POV: You have exactly 47 minutes of baby sleep to get ready, plan a class, warm up your body, and make your matcha

Welcome to CEO mum life, where everything happens in the margins and you’ve never been more efficient 😅

7 days in, and I wasn’t expecting this. 🤍

1 - My feet and ankles were burning (in the best way). Muscles I forgot I had are waking up, and it’s only 10 minutes.

2 - The energy though? Unreal. I finish bouncing and I’m sprinting upstairs like I’ve had the best sleep of my life. Every cell feels alive. Not jittery, just awake.

3 - I’m also noticing my face looks less puffy. Maybe it’s the lymphatic drainage everyone talks about, but I can see it.

4 - And honestly? It’s just fun. Playful. I feel like a kid again. Nostalgic, youthful energy without even trying.

10 minutes. That’s all it takes. No dread, no punishment, just this.

Still going. Let’s see what day 30 brings.

💬 Anyone else trying this? What are you noticing?

5 years of Align Studios 💫
Swipe to see the real story… the messy, beautiful, terrifying, incredible journey from “I don’t fit” to “I built the place where I belong.”

2019 New to Queenstown. No Pilates studios. Feeling lost.
2020 Pandemic pause. Deep stillness. Clear vision.
2021 We opened our doors… and our community said YES.
2022 Growth, and finding our identity.
2023 Building systems, trust, and a real team.
2024 Studio 2.0. Pregnancy. Expansion.
2025 Motherhood, maternity leave, and full trust in my team.
2026 Still here. Still growing. Still so grateful.

This studio has been my teacher. My mirror. My greatest challenge. I’ve poured my heart, my energy, and every version of me into these walls.

I started Align before Pilates was “trending.”
Before group reformer studios were everywhere.

This wasn’t a business move for me… it was (and still is) my life’s work.

Thank you for trusting us with your bodies, your time, your wellbeing.
For showing up even on the hard days.
For being part of something bigger than any single class.

Align exists because of YOU 🤍
Here’s to the next 5 years of building something beautiful together.

Much love,
Emma & the Align Studios team ✨

I’m a burnt-out mum who’s lived a life of pushing through exhaustion with harder workouts and longer to-do lists.

But here’s what I’m learning: Your nervous system doesn’t need more discipline. It needs gentle regulation.

So I’m testing: 10 minutes on my mini trampoline, every day for 30 days.

Why rebounding works for mums:

✨ Pelvic floor strengthening (gentle, not pounding)
✨ Lymphatic drainage (reduces inflammation & puffiness)
✨ Bone density support (hello perimenopause)
✨ Zero joint impact (postpartum-body friendly)
✨ Nervous system regulation (out of fight-or-flight)
✨ Increased blood flow to brain (hello mental clarity)

This isn’t about calories burned or “bouncing back.” It’s about coming home to your body, exactly as it is.

I’ll share the real, messy truth-the good days and the hard ones.

You know that feeling when your alarm goes off and it’s raining and your bed is so warm and you really, really don’t want to?

Yeah. That was this morning.
First Queenstown Social Club walk around Kelvin Heights. Me, Milo, Honey (emotional support puppy), and a handful of legends who also chose to show up even though the weather had other ideas.

Here’s the thing: the hardest part is always just getting your shoes on. Once you’re moving, you remember why you do this. Fresh air. Good people. That post-walk feeling that makes everything else feel possible.

And then pancakes. Obviously.

This is what showing up for yourself actually looks like. Not perfect. Not Instagram-filtered sunshine. Just one foot in front of the other, honouring the commitment you made to yourself.

Next Social Club walk is next Saturday. Rain or shine. You in?

I did something I honestly wasn’t expecting to do. I stepped on one of those fancy body comp scanners at OC Health Clubs.

Post-baby, I’d convinced myself my “starting point” would feel a bit brutal. But the results surprised me in the best way. Less weight than pre-pregnancy, muscle in a healthy range (actually 1kg up from my last scan), and a little reminder that Pilates hasn’t just changed my body. It’s kept me mobile, strong, and connected to myself through pregnancy, postpartum, all of it.

And it hit me. Consistency, moving more through the day will always beat the loud “do more, push harder” noise. Because when you actually enjoy the way you move your body, you’ll keep showing up. 🤍

Three books that align with the energy I’m calling in this year:

📖 Let Them by - Learning to release what’s not mine to control (including other people’s opinions of my choices)
📖 5 Minute Clean Routine - Because sustainable habits > overwhelming overhauls. Small, consistent actions that actually stick.
📖 Friends That Invest - Surrounding myself with people who invest in themselves, their growth, and each other.

2025 - the year I became a mummy, learning to navigate life with my babe attached to my hip.

The most transformative year yet.. beautiful, and brutal all at once. Blink and it’s gone.

2025 has been so special in so many ways. xx

Top screen: How 2025 ended. Burnt out. Going through the motions. Just trying to survive.

Bottom screen: How 2026 started. Strong. Focused. Actually nailing the Rocket 🚀

Here’s what changed between December and January - **you gave yourself permission to reset**.

You didn’t wait until you felt “ready.” You didn’t promise yourself you’d start when things calmed down (they never do). You just… started. Showed up tired. Showed up anyway. And your body remembered what it’s capable of.

That’s the difference between burning out and coming back stronger. Not a massive overhaul. Just showing up for yourself again. One class at a time.

So if you’re feeling that post-holiday slump, that “I let everything slide” guilt - let it go. You’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting from experience. And that reformer? It missed you.

Welcome back. Let’s make this year feel good 🧡

New year energy: same you, just stronger.

You don’t need to reinvent yourself in January. You’ve already been doing the work - showing up, moving your body, choosing yourself even when it’s hard.

2026? More of that. Your pace. Your practice. Your people.

We’ll see you when we see you 🧡

Most 2026 goals won’t make you happier.

Because “more” isn’t a feeling.
More money, more discipline, a smaller body, a bigger house, a busier calendar… it looks impressive on paper, but it doesn’t always land in your nervous system.

This year I’m doing it differently & going back to what works for me 👇

Before I write a single goal, I’m choosing the feeling:
✨ calm
✨ energised
✨ confident
✨ playful
✨ present

Then I’m setting systems that create those feelings.

Because consistency isn’t built on willpower - it’s built on enjoyment. If you actually feel good doing what you’re doing… you’ll keep showing up.

If you’re setting 2026 intentions, try this:
1. How do you want to feel when you wake up?
2. What 3 habits would make that inevitable?
3. What can you delete to protect that feeling?

Tell me yours; what’s your “feeling word” for 2026? 💌

Motherhood taught me movement isn’t motivation - it’s logistics 🤣

For a while, I wanted silence, my mat, my own space. Then nap times collided with class times and it became clear.. if I didn’t plan it, it didn’t happen.

Now we have a rhythm: Chaz heads home early two afternoons so I can catch class before bath-time. Saturdays we “try” to rotate, or Milo tags along if the studio’s free.

Sometimes Chaz hangs with him while I grab 45 minutes to move & make some juicy shapes.

Three sessions a week feels like a win. More is a cherry on top 🍒.

Communicate, plan, show up, and let community energy do the rest. ✨
