I never wanted to be a Yoga Teacher. Ever. But how was I going to deepen my practice?

Ever feel like you want to dive deeper into your Own Personal Practice but unsure if a Yoga Teacher Training is Your next step because:

Thank you so much to Aro Hā for having me and to the incredible people who showed up honestly and openly to talk about Stress, it's impact and how we can mindfully work with and through it ✨

🧠🧘🏼‍♀️ Did you know that GABA, a common neurotransmitter in the brain, has been shown to increase when we engage in mindfulness?

GABA helps to slow down brain activity and reduce the stress response, similar to what the parasympathetic nervous system does.

By staying aware of the quality and capacity of our thoughts, emotions and habits throughout our day we can mindfully choose how we respond and behave in different (and quite often stressful) situations and experiences.

When we feel a stressful or overwhelming situation begin to evoke a reaction we can choose to breathe a more rhythmic, deep and oceanic type breath (4 second inhale, hold for 1, 4 second exhale, hold for 1) which has been proven to engage the parasympathetic nervous system and evoke a more restful response within the body 🧠🧘🏼‍♀️

Interesting read on Nutritional Psychiatry and how we can make changes to our overall health through the use of food. Sounds simple, yet many people are still quick to jump on the medication bandwagon.

Do not get me wrong, there is absolutely always a time and place for Western medicine and the medications it provides.
