Daylight savings ends this weekend - YES - April 5th
Hard to believe it is time to switch back the clock already.

Yes it feels like Autumn but if you are like me - it hardly feels like we had a summer!
Autumn is the cool down period of the year, before the full on winter begins. It helps the earth to reset and allows the ground to breathe and prepare for the rejuvenation that the coming months bring.

If you are feeling like you need a reset too, then maybe a visit to your local osteopath clinic will give you some relief and help you to head towards rejuvenation as well.

Don't forget to change your clock back this weekend.

It's autumn - did we actually have a summer??
The weather may not have been as good as we would have liked but that is something we have no control over.
What we can control is our physical well-being.
If we exercise regularly and look after our bodies we can enjoy daily activities much more easily.
Exercise doesn't always have to be strenuous - a little and often can sometimes be the best option. Do whatever is right for you - you do not need to compete with others.
Simple every day tasks can elevate the heart rate such as gardening or vacuuming, household chores that you think may be mundane or even boring - it all helps .
Keeping active is really important - both for mind and body.
Occasionally injuries will happen , joints may become sore or stiff.
These may hinder your level of movement and exercise - if they do then consider booking an appointment with an osteopath.
Never tried osteopathy? Give it a go! It's great - it relieves tension, promotes healing and enables the body to function better.
Let's jump into Autumn with energy and enthusiasm!

Headaches occur when pain-sensitive structures in your head get irritated or activated.
The brain itself does not feel pain. So why are we getting a headache?
Blood vessels, nerves, muscles, sinuses, and membranes around the brain are the things that feel pain - an osteopath can help you understand what is happening.

Your osteopath will endeavour to ease the symptoms of a headache by reducing tension in and around the neck and head, reducing inflammation and nerve compression.
They may advise you on exercise and stretching techniques and how to maintain better posture.

Make an appointment with one of our team and see how osteopathy can make a difference.

When taking part in any sporting event or just everyday life activities, an injury can occur, often resulting in significant pain, discomfort, and disruption of normal life. Most injuries are avoidable so we want to share with you some helpful tips which might prevent an injury or prevent an injury worsening for you.

Tip 1: Stay hydrated. Try to average around 2-3L of water per day and keep your tissues and brain sharp and strong. 💧
Tip 2: Get quality sleep. Most adults require around 7-9 hours of sleep to perform at their best. Sleep is also when your body repairs and regenerates. 💤
Tip 3: Follow a balanced diet to refuel your body . 🍎
Tip 4: Remain active. Performing daily activities such as walking, biking, running, and resistance training can help you remain strong and protect against injuries. Take it gently, don't overdo it, let your body tell you what you need.🏃‍♀️
Tip 5: Stress management. Managing stress levels is important for psychological and physical health. Stress can be managed via the tips explained above. Add in some breathing exercises, participate in enjoyable activities, and have a rest day every so often. ☺️

Here at Koru Wellness our friendly osteopaths can work with you to help you heal and get you back to living comfortably.
