Murray McGeorge Toy Library

The toy library is located on the corner of Athol place in Ravensbourne and open from 2-4pm Saturdays. Fees vary from library to library.

Toy Libraries offer a range of quality toys, puzzles, games and learning activities for members to hire for a set period of time. In NZ our toy libraries mainly cater for children 0-8 years. Many libraries also stock games, puzzles, sport, musical and other play items suitable for the entire family. Some therapeutic toy libraries such as those run by CCS focus on children with special needs. Toy Libraries are run by a group of volunteers for the benefit of children in your community.

Why purchase 1 or 2 toys for $60 when you can hire 5 new toys every fortnight 🤷🏼‍♀️ pretty simple savings if you ask us 😀

Our Toy library would like to thank and acknowledge the wonderful support we received from the Lottery Grant Board this year.
The funds we received help buy some new toys including Dino transformers, paying for our power bill and wifi which we need for our miBase online system, sensor lights to keep our library safe and much needed plumbing work.
It’s no small job keeping our Toy Library open and operating to support our community and grants like these keep us going.

Our membership fee is $60 and that covers all your toy hires.

Have some suggestion on toys you would like to see at the toy library? Send them to us. We have a range of toys for 0-8 year olds and are always looking for new ideas and toys people would love to hire!

We have made some changes to the way operate here at Murray McGeorge Toy Library. This is to benefit both our Whānau and our volunteers, by stream lining how we are charging for the use of our service.

We are now scrapping toy hire fees and instead our membership fees are increasing to $60 for a year.

This membership allows you to hire 5 toys for up to 2 weeks at a time.

For our current members, your membership fees will increase at your annual renewal.

We are open to feedback and if you have concerns please reach out to us via this page or email.

We hope you all see the benefit that our hardworking volunteers see in this change.

We only have today (6th December) and next Saturday 13th left for 2025.

Come grab some toy hires to last you over the silly season.

Needing a present for a child or family? A toy library membership is only $20 for the year which gives you $1 toy hires.

(No hidden requirement for volunteering shifts (unless you want to join our volunteer group).
