Thank you so much, everyone!! Here are the pix from Art Affair, our art exhibition & sale fundraiser held last weekend at Tui House. It was a fantastic weekend, with many new connections formed and some great pieces of art changing hands. By holding this event onsite it gave us an opportunity to welcome you into our space & show you how we support local families. So thank you for coming, and thank you for supporting us!

More than $20,000 was raised for patient & family services. Our kitchen is a special place, where meals are made with the greatest of 🩷aroha for tūroro, patients in our care. We need volunteers to help in our Hibiscus Coast kitchen (2a John Dee Cres, Red Beach). The shifts are 2-3 hours & you'll be working alongside awesome team members like Jocelyn. We need people for:
👩‍🍳 Wednesday 10am - 1pm
👩‍🍳 Friday 4pm - 6pm
👩‍🍳 Saturday 10am - 1pm and 4pm - 6pm
👩‍🍳 Sunday 4pm - 6pm

“We can’t put a price on the care and love hospice showed Mum and our whānau during the most difficult of times. Hospice meant so much to Mum, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts." 🩷🩷

Last December Danielle Fifita (right, pictured with her sister Moana) allowed her beautiful, long hair to be shaved off, to raise funds for Harbour Hospice after we cared for her mother Elizabeth.

"My wish is that the money raised will help ensure that the beautiful team can continue to provide the same care to other whānau," says Danielle.

What are you doing next weekend? Art Affair is on at Tui House, Warkworth, Sat 7 March – Sun 8 March.
We have a fantastic line-up of 25 extraordinary artists, who we’ll reveal in the coming days… but we can tell you that one of them is well-known interior designer Shanly Simpson. 😍

Shanly is best-known for working more than a decade with international interior designer, Faye Resnick. She’s created spaces for famous clients including Paris and Nicky Hilton, but only began pursing art more recently, when she couldn't find art for her interior design clients. 🌷

A huge thank you to The Lion Foundation, who have just gifted us an incredible $70,000 to subsidise our operating expenses! 😍

Grants like these make a huge difference, ensuring that we can continue to provide specialist care to local families, free of charge. 🌷

🫶We support one in three people in the community who are facing the end of life, and the number of people who need our care is growing rapidly, due to a growing ageing population. You may be surprised to know that only around half our annual operating costs are covered by Health NZ. We rely on the generous support of our community, and awesome trusts and foundations like the Lions to fundraise the rest.

Many hands make light work! 👐On Saturday we had a working bee 🐝to help tidy up our gardens at our Hibiscus Coast site. 👩‍🌾👩‍🔧It was a fantastic day, with around 50 staff and their families turning out to w**d, mow, trim, prune & mulch. Our garden volunteers, who we're grateful to have come in every Weds, were thrilled to have the extra help and the day was made even more special when a patient came out of the Inpatient Unit to admire our work. You could see how much the gardens meant to him, and that was what it was all about. 🌻🌻

We had hospice doctors, nurses, counsellors, social workers, volunteer services team members, fundraisers, members of our senior leadership team and more mucking in. Just awesome! 👩‍🌾👩‍🔧
