Just wanted to show you how pretty our picking gardens are looking! These are maintained by our wonderful gardening volunteers, and the reason we grow picking gardens is so our Inpatient Unit patients have a little vase of fresh flowers on their tray, with each meal that's delivered. It's the little things that count! It looks like the bees are loving our blooms too! 🌼🌼

⭐️🩷We really need volunteers for our Ellice Rd shop in Glenfield - especially in the afternoons (1-4pm) and on Saturdays.

❤️ Sorting donations out the back
🧡 Serving customers on the counter
💛 We need electricians who can check donated electrical goods
💚 Storeperson duties - includes accepting donated goods as they come in, which requires some strength and fitness
🩵All ages and stages welcome!

💙 Ellice Rd is one of our biggest and busiest stores, requiring lots of help from volunteers every day. All the money that's spent in the shop goes to funding our Harbour Hospice patient and family services, so if you can help you'll be making a real difference. Drop in to our shop and ask to speak to the manager or contact us at volunteer@harbourhospice.org.nz or by calling Mandy on 021 527 912.

🏌️🏌️What a day to Tee off for Hospice! Last Friday was possibly the muggiest day of the year, but the 28 teams who took part in our annual golfing fundraiser at the Helensville Golf Club had a fantastic time! 🎉

Local business and social teams battled it out on the green, starting with a chipping challenge supported by Sea Lovers Gin (& aptly named 'Nearest the Gin'), which kicked off the day’s competition & fundraising.

THANK YOU to each and every person who sponsored the event, entered a team, played, donated prizes and/or gifted auction items. Together, you helped raise more than $20,500 (net), all of which will help support local patients and families in Harbour Hospice care! 😊🙏🩵

A big thank you to our wonderful host Helensville Golf Club, our Gold sponsors Country Club Huapai & ECC New Zealand , Silver sponsors Auckland Memorial Park & Cemetery & FlowFix Plumbing Limited & Hole sponsors Foundry Group Real Estate , Forrest Funeral Services & Golf HQ. Thanks also to
Justin Brassfield - Bayleys Real Estate, who did an outstanding job with the live auction and our wonderful volunteers who helped on the day. And our generous major live auction contributors, Te Arai Links, lewoolshed.co.nz/ and North Harbour Ford. 🩵🩵

It’s because of events like this, and people like you, that Harbour Hospice can continue ensuring our free, specialist, palliative care services are available – not just today, but into the future.

We look forward to seeing you next year!

“In the last two years of Mum’s life, hospice provided in-home reviews, round-the-clock phone call advice, they arranged urgent doctor reviews/scans, transport to appointments and social groups, respite care in the Inpatient Unit, they even helped us arrange our last celebration of Mum’s beautiful life for her 60th birthday. The most special gift of all was allowing us to care for our mum in her last week of life the way we wanted to, within their space.” - Danielle 🩷

We're not just here "right at the end". We walk alongside people in their end-of-life journey days, weeks, months, and sometimes years. The earlier your person is in our care, the more we can do to support them so that they can live out the rest of their life in comfort and with dignity. 🩷

🩵 Thank you very much to the following trusts who have generously gifted hospice funding this month. Your support enables us to continue providing specialist care to those in the community who need it. We currently care for one in three people who are dying, with demand for our services growing due to a growing, ageing population. Thank you so much. 😊

Thank you so much, everyone!! Here are the pix from Art Affair, our art exhibition & sale fundraiser held last weekend at Tui House. It was a fantastic weekend, with many new connections formed and some great pieces of art changing hands. More than $20,000 was raised for patient & family services. A huge thank you to all the artists who so generously contributed to the event, our fantastic opening night MC Murray Chapman, the volunteers and all our fabulous sponsors and supporters, Principal Event Sponsor Ray White Matakana & Victoria Turner - Ray White Omaha, community sponsors Coresteel Buildings & Mason Containers LTD. & supporters Move By Design, Brick Bay, New World Warkworth, Gordon Harris The Art & Graphic Store, October 30 Wines, Wallace Cotton Warkworth, Morris & James Matakana and Sculptureum
