How wonderful to see the garden coming back to life! Shoots are appearing on herbs and fruits bringing the promise of abundance.
Nurturing seedlings is underway. A stock-take of dried herbs and flowers about to take place along with planning future picking and drying. Now I have had some practise with the dehydrator there will be more varieties to have on hand during the plants' off-season.
The value of the Spirit of the plant, and appreciation of it, is the cornerstone to the distillations.

After a relatively restful time of minimal maintenance in the garden the time of plot planning and seed raising is dawning! The Borage is up and preparing a feast for the bees and the daisies are looking their cutest as they open to the sun. Happy planning and planting to you all!

Wow! What a Summer it has been! I have been ”lost” (or perhaps “found”) in the garden almost non-stop. Or if not there, in the kitchen processing the results of a bountiful season – blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, peaches of different types, gherkins, zucchini, capsicums.
Currently, there remains a forest of tomatoes (mainly cherry types), and raspberries still coming through. Cabbages waiting for fermenting. All the herbs are still plentiful and growing – the Echinacea flowers dying off, Pineapple Sage just starting. Rue, Hyssop, Valerian, Evening Primrose and the kitchen herbs all running riot! – wouldn’t have it any other way 😊
Seed collecting is under way.
Loving the Autumn weather – my favourite season. We get a heavy dew here which seems to help keep things growing, cooler mornings and evenings with “summer” days.
Here’s a selection of photos from over the past few months that hadn’t gotten as far as being posted.

Very busy times in the garden! Everything flourishing - especially those plants that grow where we think we don't want them. Many fruits and vegetables well under way, and the herbs growing strong. Can't wait for harvest time - so blessed to be growing and ingesting all the wonderful goodness our plant friends have to offer

Glorious water! Essential for all life. Not necessarily required in excessive quantity non-stop for 5 days, over-saturating the land! If you have porous soils it will be draining nicely and also setting up for good Spring growth.
Lovely to have a few hours of dry weather the past 2 days and get out to enjoy nature. Manuka & Rosemary flowering, Magnolias & Strawberries starting, Daffs looking bright in their brilliant yellows... still much to enjoy so get out there and get a much-needed pick-me-up from the gloom and damp.

Amongst the somewhat barren, dankness that is the garden currently there are still a few beauties showing their colour and resourcefulness, bringing some brightness to what can be otherwise dreary days.
Some of the Hebes are making a wonderful show and this beautiful little Camellia hybrid is so pretty.
All winter flowers help the bees through the period when they are almost constantly in the hive keeping each other warm.
