The holiday period is almost here, and things get busy fast.🎅

💊 If your repeat prescription is due to run out anytime between 23 December and 6 January, now’s the perfect time to get ahead!

Make sure you put your request in early so you have everything you need over the break. You can book an appointment with your clinician three to four weeks before your medication runs out, or, if you have approval, simply request your repeat prescription through MyIndici via our website.

With the severe weather warnings in place we are following advice and keeping an eye on how safe it is for our staff to travel.

If you have an appointment tomorrow Thursday 23rd October, there is a chance it may be cancelled. We will attempt to give you as much notice as possible, but that may be less than one hour depending on how things pan out.

For all of our patients, if you don't feel comfortable travelling in this weather, please don't unless urgent. Get in touch and we can rebook your appointment, or else use the MyIndici app to alter your appointment online.

We are looking for new casual medical receptionist superstars!

Due to staff retirements, and Rolleston's constant growth we need to expand our reception team. At the moment we're interested in finding one or two out-going, detail focussed candidates who would like to work for us on a casual basis.

As a reference, our previous "casual" reception superstar ended up working 4-5 days per week almost every week before going on to work for us permanently. So there's every chance any successful candidates might have the same opportunities.

Our hours are 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, with Saturdays 9-12 and any successful candidates could be asked to work a mixture of morning or afternoon shifts. The ability to work quickly while under pressure, be open and friendly to all of our patients and a good eye for detail is key. The work is very busy, but the team around you will be a lot of fun.

We try to always look after our team here at Rolleston Central Health with competitive pay, flexible hours and other nice bonuses.

The Indici team have let us know they are updating the app next week and the process for bookings will change to make it more streamlined.

👋 Meet Sally – Our New Nurse Practitioner!
We’re excited to welcome Sally to the Rolleston Central Health team!

Sally brings over 21 years of experience in the hospital setting, with a strong background in acute pain management. After completing her Nurse Practitioner training in 2024, she made the move to Primary Care and is already loving the variety and new challenges the role brings.

Sally is passionate about building genuine relationships with patients and supporting them to improve their health and wellbeing. She truly believes in the difference good care can make.

Outside of work, Sally enjoys trail running, hiking, and spending time outdoors. She recently completed a trek to Everest Base Camp (how amazing is that?!). She also has two children and a cheeky miniature dachshund who keeps family life extra lively. 🐾

Say hi when you see her around—we’re so lucky to have her on board! 💙

We’re continuing to experience high demand, and with winter illnesses affecting not just our patients but also some of our team, our capacity is more limited than usual. ❄️🤒

As mentioned, if you're unable to get an urgent appointment with us, there are other trusted options available.

👉 For things like:
• Allergies
• Coughs, colds & flu
• Tummy bugs
• Prescriptions
• Medical certificates
• Skin irritations or rashes

These services can often help quickly when we’re booked up.

Online consultations with registered healthcare professionals are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Subsidies for some people are available.

We have been hit pretty hard by the flu and gastro bugs going around! This means a large number of staff are off at the moment. While we will endeavour to keep all of our services running as usual you may find wait times are up, and there are less opportunities to book same-day appointments. Our reception team has been hit especially hard, and we have very limited resources to answer phone calls.

As always, please be kind to our staff who are working a tough job at the busiest time of year right now. You may find appointments getting rebooked as staffing changes, or that you're offered appointments 2-3 days later in the week. If your request is urgent, then as always our advice is to call Healthline or go to ED if we can't book you in.

In saying that, it's not all bad news! We have had new staff start work over the past couple of months and we will be hosting a new GP Registrar in July too 😀 Our staff numbers have actually increased (when fit).
