Spex USA Academy has officially kicked off! 🎉

Co-presented by Jean Minkle, PT, ATP, a respected physical therapist and master clinician in Assistive Technology, alongside Danielle Parmenter, OT, Clinical Education & Relations Coordinator at Spex USA, this full-day session in Washington, DC delivered practical, hands-on learning for clinicians working in seating and positioning.

Through real-world assessment, clinical discussion, and applied use of Spex Seating, attendees explored ways to achieve better posture, improved support, and more meaningful outcomes for the people they serve.

At Spex, we believe better seating leads to better care, and opportunities like Spex USA Academy are one of the ways we continue supporting clinicians and ATPs with the knowledge and tools to make that possible.

Follow Spex for updates on upcoming training, education, and events. 👏

At Spex, we know better outcomes start with a better assessment.

In this video, learn more about Steve Ashton as he shares his experience and clinical philosophy that have shaped his journey over nearly 20 years in the seating & positioning industry.

His approach is grounded in one core principle: start with the person, not the product. And when it comes to achieving better seating outcomes, pelvic stability remains fundamental.

As we launch our upcoming training and education events across the UK, we’re looking forward to creating more opportunities to connect with Spex. From smaller in-person events to larger academy-style sessions, these programmes will support learning, collaboration, and clinical excellence in complex seating.

We’re excited to have Steve leading our education for Spex in the UK, and excited for the impact these events will bring.

This week, our Spex UK team took on London like never before!

Navigating the London Underground with three wheelchairs is no small task... but steps, escalators and the fast pace of the network weren’t going to slow them down.

Their destination: Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

The team met with the therapy team to discuss Spex and carried out an on-site assessment. Following this, next steps are now underway for a young boy’s Spex Seating System.

Visits like this are a great reminder of what can be achieved when we work closely with clinicians and families to support individual needs. All part of Shaping Better Lives.
