A sneak peek into what we got up to at the Encouraging Movement Series workshop focusing on the lower back. Video is sped up x3.

Thank you to all that came along, we hope you found the session valuable and came away with a better understanding of how to support and strengthen your lower back safely and effectively.

We are currently organising our next workshop as we type so keep your eyes peeled for any updates on that.

Our February Wellness Walk is happening this Sunday (22nd February 2026). For this one we are heading to Hallswell Quarry.  
 
To suit everyone, we’ll keep things flexible on the day. There’s the option to stay on the flat dog park area, head up and around the quarry, or even split into two groups depending on how people are feeling. No pressure, just movement at your own pace.  
 
We’ll meet just outside the information building next to the coffee cart at 9am. It’s a great way to move, connect and start your Sunday feeling good.

Are you as excited as I am?

A huge warm welcome to our new massage therapist Eilyn, starting here at Movement Studio.

Eilyn was born and raised in Christchurch and decided to become a massage therapist after working in a physically demanding environment and seeing firsthand how much it can affect the body. That experience sparked her interest in understanding and healing the body when it responds to work, stress, and everyday life.

Having recently completed her studies, she is eager to continue learning by getting to know each client’s individual story and how their body reflects it. Eilyn enjoys helping people better understand their bodies, help them recover and feel their best despite the demands of daily life.

Outside of the clinic, you’ll usually find Eilyn working in a workshop making jewellery or unwinding with a good movie binge.

Days you will find Eilyn:

Monday: 10am - 3pm
Tuesday: 5.15pm - 7.30pm
