Have you ever wondered where Leg Up Sunflower Meal comes from?.. Just down the road! 🌻🐴

These sunflowers are growing right here in central Canterbury, just a short drive from our Rolleston site. Once harvested, the seed comes straight to us to be gently cold pressed.

This process extracts the oil without heat, chemicals or additives, helping protect the natural nutrients in both the oil and the high protein meal. Because it is gentle, some natural oil remains in the meal too, which can help support coat shine and overall condition.

Leg Up Sunflower Meal is especially popular through the colder months, when pasture quality drops off and horses need a little extra support to maintain condition and topline. 🌾🐴

The Leg Up Team are proud to contribute towards Luisa Wood - Equine Nutritionist's trip to Kentucky Equine Research to attend a technical horse feed conference. The knowledge from Luisa’s trip is invaluable and helps benchmark New Zealand equine feed against the world. Luisa has reported back that the Leg Up product range of omega balanced oils and essential proteins are top feed ingredients for a healthy horse. We highly value our relationship with both Farmlands Co-operative and NRM and look forward to future collaborations.
