🧡 Yapi Services Supports Harmony Week 2026

Harmony Week (16–22 March 2026) is a time to celebrate the rich cultural diversity that brings Australians together. It highlights the importance of inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone, while recognising both multicultural communities and the world’s oldest continuing cultures, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This week also includes Harmony Day on 21 March, which coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Did you know Australia is home to over 800 dialects and more than 250 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages are spoken across the country? These figures reflect the diversity that strengthens our communities.

You can show your support by wearing orange, a colour symbolising social communication and meaningful conversations, or by attending or hosting a Harmony Week event in your community.

Today, International Women’s Day is an opportunity for all of us to reflect, celebrate, and take meaningful action toward a more equitable future.

At Yapi Services, we proudly stand in support of a world where women and girls are empowered, respected, and given every opportunity to thrive.

Yesterday, Adelaide Primary Health Network proudly launched their Reconciliation Action Plan on Kaurna Country at Yitpi Yartapuultiku, marking an important milestone in their ongoing commitment to meaningful and measurable reconciliation.

We were honoured to have two Yapi Services team members deliver a special address as representatives of the Community Advisory Council for Adelaide PHN. It was a powerful moment to reflect on the incredible work Adelaide PHN is leading within their sphere of influence, embedding cultural respect, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices remain central to health planning and service delivery.

Reconciliation is not a one-time commitment; it is a continuous journey grounded in truth, accountability and shared responsibility. Seeing organisations like Adelaide PHN take genuine action in this space gives us confidence that positive, community-led change is not only possible, it is happening.

We thank the entire Adelaide PHN team for their leadership and for creating space for lived experience, cultural knowledge and community wisdom to guide the path forward.

World Teen Mental Wellness Day – Monday, 2 March 2026

Today, Yapi Services proudly stands with young people across Australia in recognising World Teen Mental Wellness Day, a global initiative created by Hollister Co. through the Hollister Confidence Project to break stigma and encourage open conversations about adolescent mental health.

This important day reminds us that our young people deserve safe spaces, strong supports, and the confidence to speak openly about how they’re feeling.

At Yapi Services, we see firsthand the importance of:

- Creating culturally safe environments for open expression
- Encouraging art, culture, movement and physical activity as pathways to wellbeing
- Supporting schools and families to have meaningful mental health conversations
- Reducing the pressures of social media and promoting healthy self-care practices

World Teen Mental Wellness Day also sits alongside other important awareness dates including Self-Injury Awareness Day and Zero Discrimination Day, reinforcing the message that mental health, safety and respect go hand in hand.

Today, Yapi Services proudly supports International Mother Language Day.

First proposed by Bangladesh and recognised by UNESCO since 2000, this day celebrates the power of language in shaping identity, culture and connection. UNESCO reminds us that linguistic diversity is essential for peace, dignity and inclusion, yet 40% of people globally still do not have access to education in a language they speak or understand.

In 2026, the focus is on young people and the role they play in shaping the future of multilingual education. Language is more than communication, it is identity, wellbeing and belonging.

For First Nations communities, language carries culture, knowledge and connection to Country. At Yapi Services, we stand for empowering young people to keep their languages and stories strong.
