Based in Russell 10 Cass street with a 2nd studio opening Dec 2017 at 8 Norfolk Place Keri Keri. This husband and wife team are recognized as having Northlands No.1 Tattoo and Body piercing studio. Pete is a talented artist that creates amazing artwork and high quality tattoo work. His portfolio includes customized Ta Moko pieces individually designed for each client, Sailor Jerry, Japanese, Memorial, Old school, tribal and much more. A recognised genius at coverups or restoring old tattoos! We use only the top of the line equipment and health and safety guidelines are followed stringently. The studio provides a relaxed and friendly environment and Pete specializes in cover up and scar work. - appointments are necessary. Short ferry ride from Paihia and a 45 min drive from Whangarei. Kerryn is a fully trained certified Body piercer and will ensure a great piercing experience. Body Piercing $50 and ears $30. All clients will be given aftercare instructions and an aftercare pack. Please note deposits for tattoo apts are non refundable.

Long weekend this weekend so that means walkins only! 10am start. We may do a 5pm close as we have had lots of people trying to book in. We recommend getting to us before 12 as the days fill fast. Both guys on, stock is loaded and we will do our best to have no turn aways 😊 flash boards out with some new ones going up this week 😊 your own design is cool too. Our Story

Bay of Islands Ink was established in the historic town of Russell in the heart of the Bay of Islands in 2009. Orginally opened as a small private studio for Pete and select clients we soon grew and had to move into new premises in 2011. Our reputation for amazing tattoos, incredible service and awesome atmosphere soon had us being recognised as Northlands No.1 Tattoo Studio.

Petes talents as a free hand artist with his distinct Ta Moko designs saw people coming from all around the country and the world to see him. His work in other styles of tattoo from portrait, japanese , realistic, abstractive, water colour and more keeps him busy with a steady client list. Pete is born and raised in the Bay of Islands and is known as a full on character with a quirky sense of humour he can make any cleanskin comfortable or scared to death when getting their first tattoo!!!!

In 2015 our eldest son Dante began his apprenticeship with Pete and has become an extremely talented artist in his own right. Developing his own style and love of flash art tattoos he keeps the new Kerikeri studio rocking with good tunes and vibes. He developed the $50 tiny tattoo boards which have been a huge success! His talents continue to grow as his passion for the art grows. You will also find Kyla with a gorgeous smile on the front desk of the Keri studio always helpful to make bookings and to accommodate any walkins.
