Mud has very fine grit and sand that can stay in your carbon fiber slowly wearing it down!

If this footshell is not cleaned out properly, the damage can be irreversible and expensive.

Sand is bad for a prosthetic foot because fine grit works its way into joints and components, causing abrasion, stiffness, seal damage, and accelerated wear that’s difficult to remove completely.

Mud is bad for a prosthetic foot because gritty moisture gets trapped inside, causing abrasion, corrosion, joint stiffness, and long-term damage that’s hard to fully clean out.

Water is bad and smelly in a prosthetic foot because bacteria-filled moisture gets trapped inside, causing odor, corrosion, seal breakdown, and internal damage that continues even after the foot dries.

Cleaning out your prosthetic leg Everytime it gets dirty is a necessary daunting job. It takes a long time and if you don’t do it correctly, you risk damaging your prosthetic foot.
