🚤🚣🏻‍♂️ Boat race update ⛵🛶

And the winner was . . . 🥁 . . . the big (sparkly) purple bus!

Just goes to show that looks aren't everything and neither, it seems is aerodynamic design 🤔 Congratulations to Sophie Hickford, our Community Sport Advisor and the architect behind this stunning piece of floating genius! 🏅

⛵🚣🏻‍♂️ PLAY WEEK 🛶🚤

We couldn't let play week go by without having a go ourselves . . . because we like a little competition, the Play, Active Recreation and Sport team challenged each other to a good clean boat race down the Tutaekuri.

Some of the boat building techniques were a bit questionable, with a variety of entries from 'Lil Blue' the jetski to 'the purple sparkly tank' which looked more suited to storming the beaches at Normandy than racing down the awa.

The race started off well with all vessels catching a sweet current straight off the start line. Conditions were choppy and it became a battle for the ages as the boats headed downstream to the 'yellow flowering plant' which served as the finish line.

Who won? . . . let us know which boat you think? . . All will be revealed tomorrow.

And don't forget to share your play week antics with us 😀
