arc Counselling Services is a Lakes District Health Board funded specialist addictions service provider operating within the rohe of Ngāti Tūwharetoa. The mahi/philosophy of kotahi ano te kaupapa; ko te oranga o te iwi underscores the agency’s commitment to providing high-quality counselling services to the Taupō and Turangi communities. The range of counselling provided covers a complexity of issues relating to the broader issues of substance mis-use, abuse and dependency as well as counselling for gambling and related issues. Concerns that arise as a result of substance mis-use such as personal and social problems, mental and physical health and wellbeing, depression, anxiety, life stress, and trauma can also be addressed within the counselling context. arc Counselling Services is a family/whanau inclusive practice providing support for individuals, couples and family/whanau with counselling, education, information and when appropriate referral to other health and social service sector providers. arc Counselling Services is an approved referral centre for those clients who require referral to residential treatment centres, in regard to alcohol and other drug related issues. arc Counselling Services is also an approved New Zealand Transport Agency Assessment Centre to provide assessments for those who have been indefinitely disqualified from holding a driver licence because of drink driving offences. Referrals: Referrals are welcome from self; whanau/family; doctors; allied health services; government departments; community agencies; lawyers; and employers. Cost: There is no charge for these services.
