At Matua Village we conduct daily welfare checks.

Our daily welfare checks are carried out by our entire team every day of the week. Whether it's seeing you making your coffee at your bench as we pass by, giving you a phone call, stopping by for a visit, or even just a quick hello in the corridor. If you prefer, you can also text us each day to check in, or stop by the office.

As one of our residents family members recently said "It's reassuring to know that someone will be checking in every day to see if Dad's ok, including weekends and public holidays."

For those who may require a higher level of care now or in the future, our studio apartments within Radius Matua provide comfort, privacy, and professional support all within our friendly village community.

Our studios are designed for those who have been assessed as requiring rest home level of care and are available to purchase under an Occupation Right Agreement (ORA).

Each modern studio features:
• A spacious open-plan living area with a sunny balcony
• A separate, easy-access bathroom
• A small kitchenette for a cuppa
• Full cleaning and laundry services
• Nutritious meals and morning/afternoon teas provided daily
• 24-hour medical care and qualified nursing staff

🚌 Come and listen to guest speaker Tranzit Tours on Tuesday 11th @ 11am and hear about their scenic getaways to fun-filled day trips!
👂 Hearing Health is here on Tuesday 18th to talk about hearing wellbeing and the importance of early detection. They’ll be offering on-site hearing tests, complimentary hearing aid cleaning, free batteries, and information on financial support for hearing aids.

It's been two months now since the doors to our newly refurbished Residents’ Lounge opened and it's been great to see our residents using and enjoying the revitalised space at every opportunity.

From the opening, to Lisa's Baby Shower, to weekly activities and gatherings the hub of Matua Village is alive and well and we couldn't be happier to see this communal space being used to it's full potential.

Meet Janine, our Activities & Events Coordinator. Janine is new to the Matua Village team, covering Lisa while she's away on maternity leave. Janine has always loved the company of the more mature in our society, and thought this awesome opportunity was well worth the daily trip from Waihi each day.
