We’ve engineered this flavour for years.
Not in a lab, initially. That came later.
It started in bakeries, petrol stations, corner shops and places that legally shouldn’t be allowed to sell food at 3:47am.
Hundreds of pies were tested. Some exceptional, some questionable, and a few fundamentally changed our gut microbiomes.
There were debates that went on longer than they should have. And yes… more than one internal power struggle over what actually defines a “good” mince & cheese pie.
For a long time, protein has been built around dessert.
Which makes sense on paper.
But in practice, it assumes that after a heavy session… what you really want is something that tastes like a child’s birthday. That never sat right with us.
Because the people we build for don’t live like that.
They’re up early. They train hard. They work long days.
They don’t overthink things. They just get on with it.
And at some point, whether planned or not… a pie enters the equation.
So we stopped trying to force sweet flavours into places they don’t belong.
And started making something that actually reflects reality.
R1 Protein: Mince & Cheese Pie.
25g of protein.
A profile developed with unreasonable attention to detail.
Notes that are familiar, deliberate, and… hard to explain without raising further questions.
It’s designed for the few who immediately understand it.
The ones who read this and didn’t laugh…
just nodded.
We’ll let you decide where you stand.
