Verve Women's Wellness

Verve Women's Wellness Our lifestyle programme is designed to inspire and inform women about how to nurture themselves during or after menopause.

Our Verve Women’s Wellness programme is a lifestyle programme designed to both inspire and inform women about how to nurture themselves and to ask better questions of those who can help them get back to feeling their deeply radiant selves. No single factor such as diet or activity will determine overall health during or after menopause. Important at every stage of life, exercise is even more so during menopause. It can improve or maintain cardiovascular fitness; preserve or improve muscle mass; assist weight control and metabolism; stabilise or improve bone density; improve reaction time and balance; and assist psychological health and self-esteem. If you’re in this life-phase and want to thrive, not just survive, through menopause, you are a great candidate for the Verve Women’s Wellness programme. Run over 6 weeks, it covers topics like weight gain, hormones, low energy, hot flushes, insomnia and the dreaded brain fog. We will give you information about what else is going on health-wise during this stage, including pelvic floor health and bone health, optimal nutrition, stress hormones and, last but not least, movement and mindfulness. We will also connect you with local experts and resources who can help you further.

Power Plate Women's health Ambassador talks here about Running Incontinence, and answers the question from the public:
I have been running for about 12 weeks without any incontinence issues during this period. Today for the first time before a run I did the “pigeon” stretch - or seated 90:90. On a PP. I leaked the whole way though my 1 hour run…. Would that stretch be what made the difference - and why (or why not?) -

Clare Hozack answers this question: I have been running for about 12 weeks without any incontinence issues during this period. Today for the first time befo...

Disordered eating and the festive season

This can be a pretty stressful time of the year for some. A time of year when food is everywhere, people are eating and drinking to excess and there is an increase in social events. Plus the F word can be hard for some, family that is.

This time of year can be triggering so returning to our "toolbox" of coping mechanisms is important.

Some things you can try; to stop or slow down your disordered eating behaviours.

🎄Take some time for yourself
🎄Aim to avoid secret eating
🎄No foods are off the table, no restrictions
🎄Eat mindfully and slowly (I know you've heard it before)
🎄Stay hydrated with water
🎄Prioritise sleep and rest
🎄Move your body each day in some way *
🎄Try vagus nerve activations (ask away)

* be gentle and careful if you are someone who "purges" with exercise, over exercising can be a big part of disordered eating for some
