This funeral hit differently. Diane had done a Google search to find the celebrant she wanted for her own funeral. We connected instantly on the phone and later on Zoom. A week later we sat in her lounge as she gave me all her instructions for what she wanted (and didn’t want) for her funeral. And just one week after that, we gathered at the Yacht Club, overlooking the sea as she wished, for her funeral. We made sure that all her requests were honoured. And last weekend we gathered again for her unveiling. This was a special connection.

A shout out to the My Celebrant App which was used for organising the first wedding today. After meeting them 18 months ago, the couple filled in their questionnaire in the app, uploaded music choices and shared screenshots of their initial conversations when they first met. That allowed me to write such a unique ceremony.
