There are THREE branches to our Autonomic Nervous System - TWO for survival and ONE for social engagement?
TRAUMA and sustained stress can cause us to get STUCK in SURVIVAL MODE where we cycle between "The Castle" and out "The Back Door" and find it hard to go out "The Front Door" to fully engage with others in a calm and healthy manner.
