What causes Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? Typically associated with repetitive wrist movements and swelling causing compression of a key nerve in your wrist. But did you know that in many cases there is also compression in the neck, associated with forward shoulders/text neck, so the nerve is already compressed well before it reaches the wrist? Some sources say as many as 9/10 people with carpal tunnel syndrome also have this forward posture. Google “double crush syndrome” for the details and if you’re experiencing CTS symptoms, get your posture checked by a Physiotherapist or well qualified Pilates teacher.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could avoid surgery?

When you're doing a Shoulder Bridge in your Pilates class and you get "Madge Hands" - it's usually because your shoulders are rounded 😉

Changes to UK regulations for Pilates teachers 😀!
Wherever you are, if you’re attending “Reformer Pilates” classes, please check your teacher has also trained and been certified competent to teach Mat based Pilates.
In Tauranga, there are evening mat Pilates classes at Matua Community Hall and Tauriko School during school terms.
And your teacher is properly trained and certified 😉

Hi everyone! Bookings are now open for Mat Pilates classes Term 4 at Matua Community Hall (Tues eves) and Tauriko School (Wed eves).
Term 4 starts Monday 6th October. Although some schools are having an 11 week term, our Pilates term will be 10 weeks, meaning the last mat classes will be w/c 8th December.
All classes are Mixed Ability. Beginners are very welcome but please check with me first if you have a restrictive injury or health condition.
Booking is online via the website or DM 😁
If you attended a mat class in Term 3, please check your email for your discount code for Term 4 😉

“Rehabbing” with Carol today, we used 2 different soft balls, a stretchy band, a loop band, the reformer, the springboard, the rotational discs and some hand weights! Working mainly on balance, alignment, strength & of course concentration too. Pilates is about so much more than the equipment you’re using & it makes me so happy to see how even long term conditions can improve!
