Such a privilege to be in Gisborne watching Danielle Mckenzie, Cory Taylor and Max Beattie give something back to the surf lifesaving community that's helped nurture them. The Next Wave clinics are a way for aspiring surf athletes to emulate the deeds of their heroes, in a really relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
Next up - a couple of days of the ._.warrior event.

Great day at Midway Beach in Gisborne today for the third Next Wave clinic!

Great turnout for SLSNZ's second Wāhine on Water day at Omanu Beach, which aims to get more females operating IRBs, picking up new skills and saving lives.
More than 40 lifeguards showed up from all over the North Island, picking the brains of their senior instructors and getting out in a testing little swell.
Wāhine on Water has been developed by Phoebe Havill, Phil Pirie, Paul Hardy and Julia Conway as part of their BP Leaders for Life project.
