🐚Core Restore Yoga🐚

It’s a pathway and a journey for women to a balanced and resilient body that honours your cyclical nature.

💧 Like the water weaving through the rocks, pebbles, branches and debris, I guide you on a journey of discovering the path of least resistance.

🌀 When we do encounter resistance, tension, or pain, we use curiosity as our lens to unwind these patterns that no longer serve us.

Core Restore is for you if…

💫 You have a weak core which manifests as back pain, pelvic pain/dysfunction with low energy/mood.

💫 Your pelvic floor is weak (hypotonic), tense (hypertonic), or both!

💫 You experience leaking when jumping, running or coughing.

💫 Your spine has all sorts of tension and pain, but particularly in your lower back.

💫 You have diastasis recti (abdominal separation) since your pregnancy.

💫You’ve never been well since birthing your baby and cannot connect with your core.

💫 You’ve tried core exercises, but they don’t land in your body.

💫 You predominantly upper chest breath, which manifests as tense shoulders, neck and jaw pain.

💫 Your energy feels too depleted to work on your core strength. Or you can’t sustain your energy during a core exercise class.

🐚 At Core Restore, we work from the ground up. We build a solid foundation embedded in the nervous system first. Balance and strength come after. Always.

The nervous system informs our muscles, joints, connective tissue and hence all movement patterns. If we don’t address the root of the problem, we are likely trying to build on shaky foundations. The rend result? Collapse.

🐚A Core Restore Yoga class is cyclical. It is designed by a woman for women. The class invites you on a journey that is sustainable for your energy, your present season of life and time of your menstrual cycle.

💫This is your invitation to start your journey💫

🌟 Kind words:

“Yoga in the Park was an absolute joy! Katia’s calm presence, thoughtful guidance and uplifting energy made the entire experience both relaxing and invigorating. Practising yoga under the beautiful grove of walnut trees in Waipuna added another dimension of peace and groundedness I didn’t realise I needed. I left feeling refreshed, centered and deeply grateful. Can’t wait to join again! x” Namita Singh.

“I absolutely loved yoga with Katia under the majestic trees in the park. So beautifully and expertly led. Gentle yet powerful. So good for the soul. I would highly recommend attending any of her classes 🩵 “ Debbie Turbitt.

“Joined Katia at Yoga in the park this morning and it was the most beautiful blend of soft and slow yoga while stretching and meeting the discomfort that was shifting in my body. Katia’s presence was the perfect blend of guiding and checking while bringing humour and lightness to the space. Thank you for such a wonderful session Katia.” Elika Moses

💫 Have you met the beautiful Jess?💫

Here we are, sharing a yummy slice at Pippy’s Pantry and enjoying some sunshine while we chat about her passion for teaching yoga and what she offers at New Earth Yoga.

Jess’s journey goes beyond teaching. She embodies what it means to live your yoga, on and off the mat. And this shines through in her genuine kindness and care for every soul that walks through the doors of the studio.

With so many opportunities to join a yoga class and many different teachers out there, why choose Jess?

🌷 Jess thrives in teaching small classes. This means individualised care for your well-being, your progress and where you may need support.

🌷Jess brings 20+ years of experience to your class. It’s truly something special to have someone with this experience holding space for your journey.

🌷Jess understands that life can be chaotic, messy and that often we are wearing many hats. She’s here to share powerful tools to support your mental health through breathwork, mantra, meditation and physical asana.

🌷Jess offers a conversational style experience where she encourages questions and a sense of community. There’s no hierarchy or guru mentality when you’re in Jess’s presence. Everyone’s wisdom is welcome.

🌷Last but not least, Jess is an awesome human being living her truth and bringing her light into this world. I’m honored to have her teach at New Earth Yoga where she reminds others of the light they already hold too.

💫 Jess teaches on Wednesdays, 9:30 - 10:45 am 💫

Hey busy moms! I hear you. There isn’t always time for yoga.

But who says yoga is only legit when it’s a full class? Sometimes the s #%* hits the fan and you’ve got to pivot. This might mean stretches out on your walk (or at home if you couldn’t get that walk in today). We just got to roll with it ladies.

So, here are my top three daily non-negotiable stretches & movement:

1. High lunge at the wall (or tree) 🌳
🙌🏻 Releases a tight psoas and iliacus
🙌🏻 Deep release for the groin and hips without compromising your lower back
🙌🏻 Start low and work your way up. Less is more. Slow and gentle for the win mama

2. Half dog at the wall or tree 🌳
🙌🏻 Promotes lengthening through traction along the whole spine
🙌🏻 Releases tension in the spinal discs and pelvic floor
🙌🏻 Supports diaphragmatic breathing

3. Arm swings 🐒
🙌🏻 Supports shoulder mobility
🙌🏻 Releases tension in our primary muscles of breathing
🙌🏻 Experience more freedom in your core body (think the opposite of a tin man!)
🙌🏻 And we can’t forget that overhead switch over for optional brain health in perimenopause and beyond 😂

Why the heck does this matter?

💫Because YOU matter💫

Because you are worthy of feeling regulated, aligned, and empowered.

Because you are the one you’ve been waiting for.

Because when you spend majority of your time nurturing others, these are micro doses of magic to sprinkle in your busy day to fill your cup.

P.S. If you’re wondering what is a psoas and why does it matter, keep following for more juicy bits of info uncovering the wisdom and power behind this deep core muscle.

Do you have non-negotiable moves you’d like to share? I’d love to know in the comments 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Aaaaah this sweet, beautiful, messy thing we call life! 🌀😵‍💫🥰

The journey is very rarely a straight road. We encounter unexpected turns, divine detours and all the teachings in between.

At kids yoga, a large part of our time together is learning tools for resilience through change and how trust forms a major part of that journey.

We learn to trust ourselves and others.

In the human knot game, we explore exactly this and embody it through movement, play and laughter.

We need to trust ourselves that we can support others, and that there are times that we need to trust someone else to guide us when we feel lost.

✨Parent Tip ✨Next time you’re in a tangle with your kids or just life in general. Pause and play the human knot. It might just change your perspective! 🦅 💫 And it won’t hurt to have a little fun and play 🥳

💫What are some other tips you have for dealing with life tangles? I’d love to learn from you! Let’s share what works for you in the comments 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

🐒 We’re in the full swing of things here at the kids and tween yoga classes! All the beautiful little humans bring joy into my world and teach me so much. I sometimes wonder who is teaching who? 😅

As Brene Brown phrases it, we are BRAVING our world this term and learning what it truly means to be brave in our modern world.

One of the first questions I asked in the community circle is, if you could have a super power, what would it be? This not only provided an opportunity for creativity, but I was also gifted a tiny window into their world and possibly where they are at.

So this is one is for all the moms, dads and any anyone needing to acknowledge how much of your own light, love and good you pour into this world…

My question for you is:
✨WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER? ✨

Check out mine in the comments and share yours with me too. Let’s get the convo going and acknowledge how brave we are as adults in this nutter of a world 🙌🏻
