The silly season can be a lot!
Summers officially here and there is more socialising, disrupted routines, less sleep, more pressure.
As a Naturopath, Medical Herbalist & Nutritionist, I see stress patterns peak during this time every year.
Here is a snippet of herbs and nutrients for supporting your nervous system through December + January:
🌿 Adaptogens for resilience
🌙 Nervines for calm + sleep
✨ Nutrients for energy + mood
Remember: the right support depends on your constitution, stress type, and health picture. If you’re noticing higher anxiety, burnout, gut tension or irritability, personalised care can make all the difference.
Consults are available online from The Rural Naturopath clinic based in Te Aroha.

Hey Southern Cross members!
Did you know with the right cover you can claim up to $500 a year for Naturopathic consultations.
Naturopathy includes nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, bach flowers or diet and lifestyle advice. It’s a holistic whole body approach to health that can integrate with your GP or specialist care.
Check your policy, you might be covered ✨
How it works:
- Check your policy or contact your insurer.
- Your Naturopath must be registered with the Naturopaths & Medical Herbalists of NZ ✔️
- You pay for your consult
- Then once you’ve submitted your claim to Southern Cross or your insurer they will review it and let you know if it’s accepted.
This is a pretty sweet opportunity to get support for your health and potentially have part of it reimbursed!
Online or Phone Consultations available New Zealand wide.
For those with poor coverage, if there’s a group who would like consults in person I’m happy to chat about doing a roadie x

Here’s a snap from the weekend. When one job leads into another!
Grateful to have scored a fun and easy job driving the Massey. It made for a cute spontaneous Labour weekend date tiki touring to check on the young stock and silage paddocks at the run off which ended up being a good opportunity to fix a couple of pot holes in the race. When the sun’s shining - we’re into it!
Today I was lucky to get all my farm jobs done before the weather turned which was perfect timing my for easing back into clinic mode!
✔️ Admin ticked off
✔️ Dispensary restock ordered
✔️ Client supplements, tests & herbal tonics made up
Hope you all had a lovely Labour Weekend whether you were on farm, around the house, or beaching it!
Thinking of all the farmers and communities down south doing it tough right now 🫶🏻

Today was a classic farm-to-clinic kind of day.
Started with a 4.30am wake up, milked some moos, fed and shifted the calves… then swapped my farm clothes for a little black dress and stepped into naturopathic consulting.
Hardest part? Scrubbing off the cow poo in the shower!
And the best part of the day? That smile sparked by a client’s joy with her smashing her health goal! That’s the magic.
Feeling very grateful to walk alongside people on their wellness journey 🤍

Did you know… you can access a whole range of supplements, herbal tonics and functional tests through a naturopathic consultation?!
Even the ones you love from your local health food shop or pharmacy! Plus a few epic practitioner-only formulas that need a tailored prescription.
I work with trusted suppliers to make sure you’re getting the right product for you. Not what’s trending or cleverly marketed.
Often I’ll send a script online for you to order direct. Other times, it’s ready to pick up from the farm clinic or sent with the postie and delivered to your door! How good!
If you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, let’s dig deeper. DM to book a consultation or click the link in my bio.
It’s about quality, and choosing the right product that’s fit for purpose.
Nourish your body and enjoy life,

Your genetics only start the story, they don’t write the ending.
The environment and lifestyle you provide your body can influence how your genes express themselves. This is the science of epigenetics. Where biology meets everyday choices.
As a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Medical Herbalist I help you unpack what’s driving your symptoms and build a plan that fits your life 🤍
That means supporting your skin, hormones, nervous system, digestive system, endocrine system, cardiovascular system or energy levels and whatever else your body’s asking for.
We start with a thorough case-take, 3 day diet diary and lab work when needed (or reviewing what you’ve already got).
From there, I develop strategies in natural medicine that are practical, evidence-based and tailored to what your body needs to thrive and the goals you want to achieve.
We check in monthly (or as needed) to track your progress, make tweaks as things shift, and keep your care aligned with your life.
Lately, I’ve worked with some incredible clients who have followed their plans with commitment and I’ve collaborated with Specialists and GP’s to create supportive, whole person care that’s delivered powerful results. I can’t wait to work with you to!

Over the last couple of years I’ve had the chance to pitch in at other Rural Support Trust brunches alongside DairyNZ and MPI’s On Farm Support team from Matamata, Tatuanui, Ngatea to Waihi (and even a stint at the Coroglen Tavern!).
These events are always such a good reminder to get off farm, share a meal, and connect with others in the industry.
With calving winding down and gearing up for mating and groundwork, it’s the perfect time to take the team along! Plus it’s for all the rural community so bring your neighbours.
Check out the Waikato Hauraki Coromandel Rural Support Trust’s page for brunches and other events happening around the country. And if you can’t make these ones, there are plenty of other great catch ups like industry community bbq’s and Farm Source Pie Day Fridays to keep an eye out for.

Looking for a fun and nourishing winter project with the kids?
These homemade immune supporting gummies are always a hit in our family. Some of my favourite blends are packed with the goodness of herbs like echinacea or elderberry, and boosted with vitamin C, they are an easy way to support the whole family’s wellbeing. Little hands love making (and eating) them!
This recent batch was made with our nieces and nephews. Fun to make and disappeared fast!
Chelsea Winter has come out with a beautiful, simple recipe that’s perfect for school holiday fun. Check it out here:

The vitamin C she recommends is one I often recommend in clinic from one of the practitioner-only ranges called Metagenics. It’s a high quality supplement.
If you’d like to buy some, or would like to buy kid friendly liquid herbs to add to your gummies feel free to reach out x

Your Hormones Are Talking—Are You Listening?
If you’re dealing with irregular cycles, fatigue, mood swings, or skin breakouts, these aren’t just “part of being a woman.” They are messages from your body that something may be out of balance.
As a naturopath, medical herbalist & clinical nutritionist, I help women of all ages get to the root cause of their hormonal imbalance and create personalised strategies for lasting wellness.
Common Signs Your Hormones Might Be Out of Sync:
⭐︎ Irregular or missing periods
⭐︎ PMS, mood swings, intense pain
⭐︎ Low energy or persistent fatigue
⭐︎ Bloating or digestive issues
⭐︎ Acne or sudden skin changes
These can often be linked to deeper issues.
Support Your Hormones—Naturally:
Balance Your Blood Sugar
→ Eat protein, healthy fats & fibre with each meal
→ Avoid skipping meals
→ Cut back on refined sugar & processed foods
Love Your Liver
→ Eat cruciferous veggies (broccoli etc.)
→ Stay hydrated & enjoy liver-supportive teas
→ Reduce exposure to everyday toxins (What goes on your skin matters too).
Manage Stress Gently
→ Practice daily relaxation (What fills your cup?)
→ Prioritise sleep & movement you enjoy.
Get to the Root cause
Don’t guess → assess.
→ If small tweaks to your lifestyle aren’t enough, work with a trusted GP or Naturopath to uncover what’s really going on.
→ Keep track of your symptoms, dates and key health events. (The apple health app is great for this).
→ Explore key nutrients and herbs that help manage this
Personalised Care = Better Results
No two bodies are the same. That’s why tailored treatment plans are key to restoring balance and feeling like you again.
