Strong bones need more than workouts; they need less sitting.

A review by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) shows that across all ages, even light daily activity protects bone health, while too much sedentary time quietly raises the risk of fractures.

Standing breaks, walking meetings or daily stretches can make a measurable difference over time.

Strong bones need more than workouts; they need less sitting. A sweeping review shows that across all ages, even light daily activity protects bone health, while too much sedentary time quietly raises the risk of fractures.

Osteoporosis isn’t just a women’s condition.

While it’s often thought of as something that only affects women, osteoporosis impacts men too. 1 in 5 men over 50 will experience a fracture due to osteoporosis.

Men are less likely to be diagnosed early, which means fractures can be the first sign of underlying bone loss. Bone health awareness and early testing matter for everyone!

How strong are your bones? Do you know?

If you’re over 50, it’s important to understand your bone health. Bone loss often happens silently with no symptoms, until a fracture occurs.

World Osteoporosis Day is a reminder to make bone checks part of regular health care, just like heart or blood pressure checks. Early detection through a bone density (DXA) scan can help prevent fractures and protect your independence for years to come. Don't leave it too late.

At 82, Rhoda’s mobility was limited by osteoporosis, until weightlifting changed everything.

In just six months, Rhoda, who had experienced severe muscle loss in her back due to spinal osteoporosis, went from barely being able to walk for 30 seconds unaided to squatting, bench pressing, and deadlifting regularly.

By building muscle later in life, she’s not only regained strength but also improved her mobility, reaping double the benefits. So, how did she do it, and what does her routine look like now?
