She first trained with us as an Intern nine years ago and returns with even more experience, insight, and her trademark calm, caring approach. Our patients are in excellent hands with Hana around, and I know our team are equally stoked to have her as their workmate.

We are excited to have a Christmas Wishing Tree in store! KIN supports children in the Waikato that are being raised by anyone other than their parents in the Waikato. Before Christmas, each child is asked what they would wish for from Santa. If you would like to share a little aroha this Christmas, come in store and pick a wish off of the tree, purchase the gift and leave it unwrapped under the tree (or any gift is appreciated).

The Sanders staff have donned their gumboots again to support Gumboot Friday

We see the life-saving changes counselling can have in our rangitahi. Gumboot Friday helps fund free, immediate counselling to young kiwis in need.

Measles is a serious, highly contagious disease. There is concern around the outbreak currently in New Zealand and the need for vaccination. We have the measles vaccine in stock. Our pharmacists can give you the free vaccine, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

If you were born BEFORE 1969 - you do not need vaccination, you will be immune to measles

If you were born AFTER 1969 - you should have had 2 doses of the vaccine as part of your childhood vaccinations. Unsure? Kōrero with us or your GP.

Children are given two doses at 12 and 15 months - check immunisation records in your child’s Well Child Tamariki Ora health book

Why Your Local Pharmacy Hasn’t Been on Strike Today

Today, thousands of health workers & teachers marched for fair pay, safe staffing, and better funding.
We’d love to have been there too — but we couldn’t.

Over 90% of pharmacists work in community pharmacies — small, competing businesses.
If we took collective action, the Commerce Commission could treat it as cartel-like behaviour under competition law.

So while others took to the streets, we were behind the counter — cheering them on, dispensing medicines, and keeping our doors open.
Not because we don’t care, but because if we closed, our community would pay the price.

Community pharmacy is under real pressure, but we’re doing everything we can to stay here for you. ❤️

We’re so excited to welcome Kayla to our dispensary team!

Originally from Hamilton, Kayla has spent the past few years in Australia but is now back in NZ — and we couldn’t be happier to have her join us here at Sanders Pharmacy as a Dispensary Technician.

Kayla brings a fantastic variety of skills, loads of enthusiasm, and a cheerful, friendly energy that brightens the whole team. She’s a real dynamo and already such a great fit with our crew.

Daffodil Day 2025

Look at us! We have got our yellow shirts on to support the Cancer Society on their annual daffodil day. As a health provider we see many people in our community affected by cancer and are proud to support such a worthy cause.

We all know someone affected by cancer. Some of us have lost much loved partners or parents. We will remember them today, and hope that the money we raise can help ease the burden for friends and whanau.

Our grateful thanks to one of our lovely customers for the lovely daffodils that we have around the store this week.

Have you noticed a new face behind the dispensary bench? We have been joined two days a week by pharmacist Rebekah (Bex) ☺️
When not doing the hard mahi on your prescription at Sanders, Bex is at Mahoe Med as a practice pharmacist. This dual role has already been super helpful in adding to the quality focus on both teams.

Out of hours, Bex, like some of our other pharmacists, is completing post graduate clinical pharmacy study. She also is a keen reader and home baker, with the occasional jaunt to the gym!

In support of Daffodil Day, 29th August, we're having a colouring in competition. Pop into the store to pick one up for your little people!
Age groups: 0-5, 5-8, 8+
Return the colouring by the end of the 22nd and we'll put them up in store to create a Daffodil display leading into the 29th.

We'll have a random prize draw for each category, as well as a 'best in class' that we judge for each age group. Everyone's in the draw to win something! Winners announced on the 29th of August.
