Raukura Hauora o Tainui pursue the dream of Princess Te Puea Herangi and reclaim their health and wellness needs. The Tainui community health development commenced from 1983. In 1991 Raukura Hauora O Tainui became a legal entity and bagan delivered community health promotion programmes, which progressed into Primary Health Care, with the first GP clinic, located at Waahi Marae. In 1995 Raukura Hauora O Tainui ki Tamaki was established. The ethos of the organizations aspirations is its acceptance and appreciation of Maori culture, social structures and rituals of encounter. These continue to be the basis of planning, development and implementation of all health care programs offered by the organisation.

Taurima te Pā Harakeke is a service for hapū māmā and whānau to receive support from a trained coordinator during their pregnancy with education, access to maternity services and hapū māmā programs. The Pã service is an integrated, community-based, programme of support based around a traditional Mãori Pā. The Pã concept is a village of services and skilled practitioners who can support whānau from conception to 5 years old

Our team at Aronui have Pēpi Pods available for whānau to pick up.

Pēpi Pods provide a safe, separate sleep space while keeping pēpi close — especially helpful during the early weeks.

Safe sleep means:
• Face up, face clear
• Flat and firm sleep space
• A smoke-, v**e- and alcohol-free environment
• Whānau working together to keep pēpi safe

Wishing all our whānau a safe and restful holiday season! Please note that most Raukura Hauora o Tainui medical clinics will be closing for the Christmas break starting from midday on 23rd December 2025.

Here are the reopening dates for our locations:
☀️ Nga Miro (Ngaruawahia) & Te Rengarenga (Dinsdale): Reopening 5th January 2026
☀️Te Papanui (5 Cross Roads) Special Hours: Open 9am – 3pm on 29th, 30th, and 31st December and Reopening 5th January 2026
☀️Waahi Medical (Huntly): Closed from 18th December, and reopening 12th January 2026
