It was a privilege to care for Briar Delyse Stockley, born on May 15, 1983, passed away on December 21, 2025, in Waiotapu. She was 42 years old.
Briar was known for her outgoing nature, sharp intellect, wit and sense of humor. She spent her early years in Auckland, where she lived, studied, and worked surrounded by her wider family.
Her life took a meaningful turn with the birth of her twin sons, Lucian and Coen. Soon after her sons were born, Briar and partner Anton made the decision to relocate to Rotorua to be closer to her mother Maree who had recently moved to the area to be closer to support her growing boys.
The bond between Briar and Maree was profound. Maree’s passing in 2019 marked a significant loss in Briar’s life. In Rotorua, Briar continued to share her vibrant personality and energy with those around her with several friends sharing memories of Briar being the life of the party.
Her legacy lives on through Lucian and Coen and through the many lives she touched with her kindness and strength.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Briar’s life will be held on January 9, 2026, at 1pm at Te Atatu Baptist Church on Old Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland.
