We’re excited to be attending the HiNZ Digital Health Week NZ 2025 conference next week and even more thrilled to be presenting as we connect with others shaping the future of digital health and wellbeing in Aotearoa.

This year’s event is extra special for us, as it’s taking place right here in our hometown of Ōtautahi Christchurch at Te Pae, where ignite was born and continues to grow. We’re stoked to see such a cool event happening on our home turf!

Don’t miss our team in action:
💡 Sarina will join a panel of experts discussing The innovation imperative: leadership that creates progress.
🎤 Mike will present with Adam Hutchinson from oVRcome on From avoidance to engagement: How VR helped rangatahi face social anxiety and cut time in care.

If you’re attending, keep an eye out for us - we’d love to say hello and chat about how we’re making proactive, personalised support more accessible for organisations and individuals.

What does holistic wellbeing ACTUALLY mean?

It’s not a buzzword, a fad, or a trend. It’s about supporting the whole person - mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual health. When one area is neglected, the rest are affected.

At Ignite, we take a truly holistic approach, helping individuals and organisations thrive, not just cope.

Wild weather getting to you?

If you’re feeling a bit tired, tense, or out of sorts, you’re not alone. The strong winds and wild weather sweeping across the country can take a real toll on our mood, energy, and focus.

A few small things can make a big difference:
💧 Stay hydrated – wind and dry air can leave you more dehydrated than you think.
🏠 Keep your space calm – close windows facing the wind, tidy your space, and create a sense of calm indoors.
🧘‍♀️ Take a breather – grounding or deep breathing helps your body settle when everything outside feels chaotic.
😴 Rest when you can – stormy nights and noisy winds can throw off sleep, so make time to recharge.
💛 Go easy on yourself and others – everyone’s a bit more sensitive when the weather’s wild.

Look after yourself and those around you over the next few days.

About Ignite Aotearoa

Ignite Aotearoa is a wellbeing social enterprise, backed by Emerge Aotearoa - one of the largest independent mental health organisations in New Zealand. We exist to strengthen community wellbeing by addressing inequity and removing barriers to accessing resources and support.

Our kaupapa meets a vital need for mental health and wellbeing offerings that are evidence-based, fast and easy to access, provide flexible options and cater to a range of budgets. Ignite’s solutions include education, a digital wellbeing platform, and specialised research and evaluation services.

Currently, our focus is partnering with workplaces to enhance employee wellbeing. Over time we will work alongside other groups to deliver next-generation wellbeing solutions, including health providers, schools, iwi and whānau.

Our ultimate aim is to re-invest our profits into providing mental health and wellbeing support for at-risk communities. When you choose to partner with Ignite, you’re supporting a wider vision of a thriving Aotearoa for all.
