BROS Aotearoa Building healthy Men in a new age of Embodied Masculinity. Events & Transformational Experiences Brotherhood is the medicine. OM

Organic Mechanic serves to bring men's wellbeing and brotherhood to the forefront of our community as a medium for collective healing, initiation, and collective transformation. This online group serves as a place to connect and share in between seasonal/bi-monthly events at the time of Rākaunui (full moon). Our events focus on creating a safe container for men to connect, listen, share and learn through cultural connection, healthy masculine energy, elder wisdom, and physical space where men can lean into their edge as we reckon as a collective with what lies within. Utilizing various processes and healing modalities such as breathwork, yoga, movement, sound healing, circles & more, we aim to address a holistic view of hauora/wellbeing (spiritual, physical, mental & emotional, social), in order to journey through our collective challenges towards understanding. In a time of increased isolation, systemic racism/oppression, and environmental violation, the call to create a space for men to share their emotions and feelings has never been clearer.

The great Samurai Musashi speaks to discipline, restraint, readiness, and peace.

To cultivate strength and skill, without needing to use it.

To savagely train the body whilst maintaining a calm & peaceful mind.

To live close to the soil while staying prepared for the storm.

The warrior’s path asks for both.
Presence in stillness.
Clarity in conflict.
Responsibility for what we protect.

In the new age of "men's work" - we see men not necessarily struggling with emotion, but struggling with the power that lies beneath.

Many men are reading, talking, processing - doing the work.

And still… something feels off.

Because much of "men’s work" skips the primal base layer.

Insight before instinct.
Words before body.
Softness before strength.

This is where the new age of "men getting vulnerable" can just be a sop-hole - if they don't also "get connected to their strength".

Without a lived connection to the primal essence
a man can feel like he understands himself deeply -
and still feel unsteady inside it.

The primal and the divine.
The raw, ugly power.
And the clean, calm presence.

Primal masculine energy lives in the body.
A steady chest. A strong spine.
A presence that is felt before a word is spoken.

It shows up in conflict.
In the heat. In the edge.
In learning to meet confrontation without collapse or explosion.

In learning to hold anger cleanly.
To move rage through the body safely - with breath, with brothers, with clear boundaries.

From here, vulnerability lands.
Words can carry weight.
Love protects.

The warrior in the garden emerges.

We invite you to join us at the BROS Masculine Vitality Weekend 26-29 Mar at Mangaroa Farms, Upper Hutt - where we will explore these themes & more.

3 spaces remain.

The sacred presence of Elders.
A steady, grounding force.

Free of the need to be loud, or performative. Just there, just present. A warm, grey haired face, carrying the wisdom and insight from walking the path many times before.

Elders are the quiet backbone of our circle - reminding us this path didn’t begin with us, and won’t end with us. They carry knowledge through story, silence, mistakes, and grace.

They show leadership with how they listen, reflect, and how they sit with discomfort.

An elder doesn’t come to lead the circle.
He comes to anchor it.

He reminds younger men that fire needs patience, strength needs wisdom, and purpose takes time.

In intergenerational spaces, something powerful unfolds:
• Younger men bring energy and challenge.
• Elders bring perspective and story.

Together, the circle deepens.

Big respect and gratitude to the men who sit with us and quietly guide the way 🔥

We all know a brother who could use some time out, immersed in the elements of nature, held to the fire of accountability, and the healthy challenge of brotherhood.

We all know a brother who could benefit from something deeper than small talk. Something more real than alcohol and sports. More authentic and meaningful than a ruckus weekend with the lads.

The Masculine Vitality Experience is our cornerstone BROS offering - held on the almighty whenua of , March 26-29.

Guided by elders, and cloaked by the healing power of Papatūānuku, we will journey deep into the realms of what is possible, whilst forging brotherhood connections that will last a lifetime.

Where the adventure experience of Outward Bound meets the kinship of brotherhood, and the care of a wellbeing retreat centre.

This is where men come to expand beyond their limits.

It's really about taking off the masks - and remembering who the f**k you are.

More men around more fires 🔥

We see it clearly: there is a hunger in our world for men who can be present in their lives - men who can hold space, bear responsibility, navigate emotional terrain, stand grounded even in chaos.

And yet, too few of us have been shown how.

We believe every community needs men who:
- carry both strength and tenderness;
- honour shadow as much as light;
- work from deep presence, not performance;
- hold a high standard of accountability & integrity
- understand that to truly lead is first to tend one’s own fire.

Our vision is a regional support network of men’s circles across Aotearoa.

Led by men who know how to step into emotional depth; who can anchor in stillness; who can facilitate ritual, connection, conversation; who hold accountability and care in equal measure.

So we train men.

The first step is our BROS Leadership Training, 8-9 November 2025 in Whāingaroa, Raglan.

Over two days, men will:
- Learn facilitation frameworks and circle-holding tools to lead with integrity
- Ground themselves through embodiment, breath, nature, ritual
- Enter emotional and inner work to expand capacity
- Build brotherhood, support, mentorship & accountability
- Return home ready to lead — their lives, their circles, their communities

Spaces are limited.
Pay what you can between $150 - $499

We invite men who feel a stirring. Whether you’ve done men’s work or are new to it - if you feel a call to step more fully into leadership of self, to support other men, to weave deeper connection in your region - this might be your path.

Will you join us? Will you train to tend more fires?

🪓 Pass to the left.

Our Toki, axe, hatchet - has been passed around many circles.

A witness to tears, truths, break-throughs, and breakdowns.

A keeper of stories, silence, and transformation.

As it’s passed from hand to hand, it reminds us:
to speak with courage,
to listen with presence,
to honour the sacred space we’re in.

This is our talking piece.

A taonga born in the freshwater rivers of Te Wai Pounamu, bound to a handle of Rewarewa, wrapped in cow's leather, and adorned with paua, bone, and the feather of a Kahu 🪶

Forged together by the steady hands of brother - and shaped by the energy of every man who’s ever held it.

In the BROS kaupapa, the axe is a mirror.

It reflects our potential:
To create, and destroy.
To sharpen, and to soften.
To wield power with integrity.

The warrior archetype lives here - but not in domination or ego.
In discernment.
In service.

To cut through the noise.
To say what needs to be said.
To protect.
To chop wood.
To keep the fire burning;
the one in our homes, and the one in our bellies.

Every time the toki is passed, a new edge is forged.
