My name is Anna and I am the face behind the name - Annasana. Throughout my life sport and movement have always played a big part. I have dabbled in yoga for over 20years in various cities and countries around the world however it wasn’t until returning to New Zealand in 2011, becoming a mother and losing a sister that I found true solace on the mat. In 2018 I felt a call to dive deep and completed my 200 yoga teacher training with Hot Yoga Wellington. I feel really passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga and supporting people to find more space in their bodies and minds.
I currently teach for Hot Yoga Wellington and Lower Hutt, Revive Gym, Crossfit 5011 and for the Hutt City Council Yoga Flavours community yoga programme.
Annasana Yoga is an opportunity for me to continue to connect to my local community and offer early morning yoga in a beautiful setting.
What brings me to the mat?
Balance. Peace. Connection. Space. It was in coming to my mat that I found the space to go in and come back to myself. Each time I step onto the mat it offers me the opportunity to connect and explore all aspects of my body/mind/breath/spirit, to notice what I notice and feel what I feel. My practice gives me energy, clarity and calm.
What might we find you doing when you’re not on the mat?
Mothering my 3 delightful, energy filled boys (my true yoga!!) Being outdoors in the bush, at the beach. Hanging with friends and family. Enjoying a good book, cup of coffee, glass of wine. Candles, crystals and a little bit of craft.
