Measles cases have now been confirmed in Wellington.
It’s more important than ever to check that you and your whānau are protected.

Measles spreads very easily and can cause serious health complications. The best protection is two doses of the MMR vaccine, and it’s fully funded in NZ for anyone who hasn’t had both.

Not sure if you’ve had two MMR doses?
Call us and we can help you check.
If patients are unsure of their immunity to measles, they should be directed to check their immunisation records through My Health Record or freecall the Vaccination Helpline on 0800 28 29 26.
If you need it, you can book your MMR with us.

Be alert for symptoms:
• High fever
• Rash
• Cough, runny nose, red eyes

If symptoms appear, please stay home and phone us so we can arrange safe care: 04 920 1800

Let’s work together to keep our community protected. 💛

October is Breast Screening Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a great reminder to look after your health and book your mammogram if you’re due.

Regular breast screening is the best way to detect breast cancer early – when it’s most treatable. Women aged 45 to 69 are eligible for free mammograms every two years through BreastScreen Aotearoa.

Who can have a free mammogram?
Women aged 45–69 who have no symptoms of breast cancer
Women who haven’t had a mammogram in the past two years
If you’re outside this age range, talk to your GP or nurse about other screening options.

How to book
You don’t need a referral – you can self-refer.

Call 0800 270 200
Or visit www.timetoscreen.nz/breastscreening

Why screening matters
Breast cancer affects 1 in 9 Kiwi women in their lifetime.
Screening can detect cancers that are too small to feel.
Early detection saves lives.
This October, take a moment to check if you or your loved ones are up to date with breast screening. A simple mammogram could make all the difference.
