This recent rain was desperately needed, both for water supply and and pasture growth. I've noticed the summer grass seeds sprouting all of a sudden as well as the general pasture coming to life. This is the perfect time to consider applying fertiliser to get your grass pumping and your winter covers sorted. I use the AgriSea NZ Seaweed Ltd foliar spray products at between 5ltrs and 10ltrs per hectare for best results. Filling the tank with Agrisea fish and seaweed fertilisers to foliar spray 11ha property. Lots of hills but that isn't a problem. I've got 50m hose on board and spray the steeper areas on foot. The next 8 weeks will be your optimum time to boost soil health and pasture growth.

I was out on the job earlier this week spraying the 'gold standard' Agrisea fertiliser mix on this 11 ha property. There are lots of steep areas that I needed to get out the hose for and spray by hand. This customer is super happy to have given those hard to access areas a good dose of foliar fertiliser. The spring season is drawing to an end but I am still out and about spraying foliar fertiliser on lifestyle blocks and small farms. Well it's not often you end up on the cover of a magazine so I thought this was worth a share. There is nothing more satisfying than meeting with people to talk about their dreams and aspirations for what they want to do with their land and providing them with a road map of how to get there. This is what we've been doing on our own block over the past 7 years and its paying real dividends now with extensive vegetable gardens, a growing food forest and lots of healthy animals grazing across the landscape. As I say in the article, the projects and jobs never end, but it's all worth it at the end of the day when most of the food on your plate has come from your own property.
