Introducing our "Savvy's Sunday Special"
Savannah is our newest massage therapist, bringing over a decade of hands-on experience in therapeutic and remedial massage. Her treatments blend skilled technique with a calm, grounded presence, creating sessions that are both deeply relaxing and genuinely effective.

Savannah is a licensed massage therapist from Alaska with over 10 years of professional training and clinical experience across therapeutic, remedial, and integrative bodywork. Her background includes extensive work in chiropractic, naturopathic, and physical therapy–focused clinics, developing a strong foundation in anatomy, assessment, and results-driven treatment.

Trained in Hawaii and Alaska, Savannah’s work is shaped by alternative medicine principles, Chinese medicine teachings, and collaborative practice alongside chiropractors, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, and naturopaths.

Her approach is professional, grounded, and deeply personalised — blending technical skill with genuine presence and care.
Savannah brings excellence into her massages, and has a refined ability to attune to each client’s needs, and a deep commitment to helping the body restore balance, function, and ease.

We just managed to get the Japanese soak tub in. That was actually nail biting stuff. But she is in and I can’t wait till it’s installed and being used. Yes, we had to take the door frame off to get it in. ......

Golden Medicine, quietly growing
🌼 St. John’s Wort — one of my favourites 🌼

As a Herbalist, I love working with herbs that grow where we live. Right now, St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is everywhere — generous, resilient, and quietly powerful.

Well known as an uplifting herb, it’s also a beautiful nerve tonic, calming for the nervous system, supportive through menopause, antiviral and antifungal, and wonderful for massage and fascia work. I’ve used it for years in oils and balms — and I love it just as much as a tea. A small cup, blended with other herbs, feels light, steady, and quietly uplifting. The happy tea.

If you’re curious, you can gather it yourself — avoid roadsides, take a walk somewhere local, collect only a little, pick the flower tops, and always leave plenty behind so it keeps growing for next year. Dry it gently for tea, or infuse the fresh flowers in oil and watch the magic as it turns a deep ruby red. The active ingredient hypericin.

At the Wellness Spa, herbal teas will be part of the ritual — a simple way to extend your treatment, calm the nervous system, and reconnect with the wisdom of plants. There is so much to know, and so much to share.

Ending this year with so much gratitude.

Thank you my wonderful little team for all your hard work, for showing up. Caring for our clients and simply being who you are. You are all wonderful healers and little miracle workers, and I am so grateful for each of you.

Thank you to every client who showed up, for supporting us through out the year. For making our jobs all the more rewarding and fun. I am so grateful to everyone one of you too. We are blessed to have so many wonderful people pass thru.

Looking forward to seeing you all in 2026. A very exciting year for Massage in Wanaka. Moving to our very own beautiful Spa. We are just so very exciting. Cant wait to see you all there soon.

The doors are opening soon. About to start scrapping off the old Opulence hairdressers stickers. But thought it was fun to post this , as people will be able to figure out exactly where we are moving. And no peeping until the opening, so it's surprise. Feeling real now. Making a dream come true.......
