We start this week dancing our way toward Easter with the Bailando Routine on Monday 9:30am Snells Beach Community Centre and Tuesday 9:15am Matakana Hall. Focusing on the integration of our hips, heart and head as we dance to the rhythms of this fabulous routine. I look forward to dancing with you on Monday or Tuesday this week 💃💃💃🐣

We end the week shifting focus to a celebration of Easter …maybe with chocolate, hot cross buns or another meaningful ritual. There are no Nia classes on Good Friday, Easter Monday or Tuesday 7th April (special Lawyers holiday has closed our office so I am taking a longer break). After Easter I am back on Friday 10th, Monday 13th or Tuesday 14th April.

I hope everyone is warm and dry inside on this wet and wild day. Friday Nia 9:30am at Snells Beach we continue our Play-a-Weight series with the Express Routine. Our focus is our bones and the shapes we can make with the body as we condition our bones with light hand weights (optional). I look forward to dancing with you tomorrow. Cheers Debbie 💃💕💃

I hope you are all enjoying this fabulous weather. We have been swimming, relaxing on the boat and playing with Stella on the beach. I’ve decided it’s time for a rhythmic dance off this week as we dance the Bailando Routine on Monday 9:30am Snells Beach and Tuesday 9:15am Matakana Hall. Our focus is dancing to the music enjoying the Bachata, Samba, Flamenco, Cha cha cha, Salsa and Merengue rhythms…. Which is your favourite? Cheers Debbie 💃💃💃

By popular demand we are dancing the Wild Routine again this week. Enjoying the music, the movement and the magic. Our focus will be on our Spine with an intent to increase mobility and flexibility as we undulate the spine in all directions. I hope you enjoyed getting Wild last week as we are dancing the Wild Routine again on Monday 9:30am Snells Beach Community Centre and Tuesday 9:15am Matakana Hall. The older routines have a sense of magic to them and I’m enjoying revisiting the vault. This week we will focus on reflexive conditioning (when you get a surprise 😮 and move impulsively). I look forward to getting Wild with you this week 🤪💃😵‍💫

What a gem of a day today is….I’m enjoying this stretch of crisper mornings and clear sky days 😎😎😎. Friday Nia 9:30am Snells Beach Community Centre we are extending our play-a-weight practice with 4 tracks of the Resilience Routine modified to include light hand weights. Building our strength, focus and awareness as we listen to our bodies and move in a way that feels great. I look forward to dancing with you tomorrow. Cheers Debbie XX 💃💃💃

We are getting a bit Wild at Nia on Monday 9:30am Snells Beach Community Centre and Tuesday 9:15am Matakana Hall, dancing the Wild Routine and focussing on scaffolding our movements. Scaffolding is when we start with the base move, adding core movement and expression through the upper extremities to create a whole body movement experience. I look forward to getting WILD with you this week. 🤪💃🤪

Friday Nia 9:30am Snells Beach we are building our strength and balance with light hand weights and the Resilience Routine. Focusing on finding stability in our steps and stances so we feel safe building our internal and external resilience muscles 💪. I look forward to dancing with you tomorrow 💃🥳💃

This week we will Pulse with life force energy as we dance the Pulse Routine. When we move our bodies we can sense energy moving through us, a feeling of aliveness and often the sensation of joy. At Nia we help you increase the awareness of sensation to improve your relationship with your body. As you tune in you can make better decisions about what feels good (and what doesn’t). I look forward to sharing the Pulse Routine with you Monday 9:30am Snells Beach and Tuesday 9:15am Matakana. Cheers Debbie XX

This Friday at Nia 9:30am Snells Beach Community Centre we continue our Play-a-Weight Journey. 🏋️💃🏋️. Growing our light hand weight practice to 3 tracks but of course you choose how many are right for you. I recommend keeping it light with 0.5kg or 1kg weights and you may notice a strengthening of the core as well as the arm muscles. I look forward to dancing with you tomorrow. Cheers Debbie XX
