Looking for some more affordable, and possibly nicer-for-your-gut training fuel this weekend? Here’s some ideas you might find at your local supermarket:
• banana bread, fruit cake, plain sponge cakes
•dried fruit - dates, figs and mango are good options
•bananas - nature’s portable snack!
•easy to eat muesli bars and oat bars and rice bubble bars
•juice poppers, pouches and pureed foods
•pure maple syrup and honey
•vegemite sandwiches and wraps (PBJ is also a favourite!)
•Sports drink powders are an affordable option
•supermarket gels may also be an option for you
•lollies
•potato chips (think long bike days for Ironman training or trail running)
•hot cross buns, cheese bacon rolls, finger buns (again good for ultra endurance training)

SO EXCITED for not only completing the Kaiwi Channel (Molokai Channel) swim this week, but also completing her Oceans 7 journey 🤩🥹🎉 It’s been a wild ride since starting together in 2021 for her English Channel swim with every stroke of the way 🏊🏽‍♀️ Plus also ticking off Rottnest Island and 20 bridges swims whilst working together. We’ve made tweaks along the way for each swim’s demands, but overall kept the same nutrition products for feeds, because why change it if it works! Epic work Jo and I can’t wait to see what’s next!! Congratulations team 👊 🥂

Last weekend was big for our athletes at 🏊🏽 🏊🏽‍♀️ For all 4 of them, it was their longest open water swim! Lots of smiles, lots of learnings, and lots of well earned rest. Two move on to English Channel preparations, two relax while they think what’s next 🙃 but all four nailed their feed plans and nutrition in the lead up 👏 👊 Well done team!

Day 2️⃣ of birthday celebrations 🥳 And I’m excited to be offering my annual Athlete Sponsorship again for 2026!

One athlete will receive 4 months nutrition coaching and support to fuel their training, life and health; so they can perform well and be their personal best! 🌟

We all know the benefits we get from playing sport and exercising, but it can be expensive; and additional support like personalised sports nutrition can unfortunately not be an option for many.

That’s why I want to provide one of my Base Support Programs (valued up to $999 AUD) to 1 x Athlete - Junior/Youth athlete OR Adult Age Grouper. It’s a way of giving back to sport that has provided me so much; and also to support more of you!

You could be a triathlete, swimmer, runner, cyclist, marathon swimmer, team sport athlete, track and field athlete, post-partum parent returning to sport, or play a number of sports... Or maybe you’re just wanting to live a healthier life! 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🚴🏽‍♀️ 🏊🏽‍♀️ 🏋🏽‍♀️🤸🏽🏏🎾🏀

My weekend office looked a little different this week with development camp at 🥅 I chatted with our vision impaired athletes about their nutrition foundations and how to fuel around training and games to maximize their performance AND health 💥 🔋 They then got to put that into practice with doing a grocery shop and planning lunch for the team of 40; along with game day yesterday ✅ They came up with some great choices and hopefully have taken a few things away to work on 😊 A great fun experience - thanks team!

Kicking off 2026 workshops with Swim team 🏊🏽 We spoke lots about how to fuel around training and how to apply it to meets and race day 🏅 along with how to fuel across the day to support recovery, performance, AND growth and development 💪

The swimmers then jumped into some food prep making Roll Up Wraps and Speedy Chicken and Rice with veg. Last year there was some questionable and inedible meals made, so this year we changed up the recipes and got them to make it for each other as this would become part of their snack options for pre and post training at the camp 🙃

Here’s what some of my athletes and myself are focusing on this year… and maybe you are too? 💫 You don’t need to set big scary goals, extreme resolutions, or start a new diet this year. You probably just need to get back to consistency, what works for you, and having some support (your coach, dietitian, family, or outsourcing). Once you’ve got your foundations down pat, then you can start to think bigger and get outside your comfort zone 💥 #2026
