The Chiropractic Basics:

Your nervous system (brain, brainstem + spinal cord) is the MASTER controller system for all other systems in your body. Because it’s the most important, it’s protected by bony moveable segments (SPINE) which nerves exit through to communicate with muscles, organs, fascia and ligaments.

Your body is designed to be healthy, self-heal and self-regulate. The nervous system is a communication pathway, so the brain and the body can give feedback to each other all the time.

STRESS in all forms (physical, chemical, emotional and electromagnetic) can cause disruption to this communication system.

Chiropractors are trained to locate these areas of disruption (subluxations) and adjust them so that the body can better heal and regulate.

A regulated nervous system is able to be adaptable to its environment, and is therefore more resilient to every day stressors.

How can I help?
People seek chiropractic care for a variety of reasons, and it’s important to understand your individual goals so we can plan accordingly.
PAIN- You’re coming in for pain or relief of symptoms
PREVENTION- maybe you’ve recovered from an injury/ stressful time of life/your child is in peak age of development and we are tracking milestones.
PERFORMANCE- you want to feel and function at your best.
The frequency of visits for these three stages will differ depending on the person, and what they are coming in for.

Our first appointment together is a fact finding session to discover where you are at, what you want to achieve, and what you are currently doing to get there.

Where appropriate your first visit will include some form of adjustment (hands on treatment).
