🎄Summerset Blenheim’s first Market Day was a hit! Despite the wild weather, the community came together for a fabulous day inside the temporary recreation centre. Residents and guests enjoyed browsing local produce, crafts, and picking up Christmas gifts – with free gift wrapping offered on site. Of course, no Summerset event is complete without a sausage sizzle, all proceeds from the sizzle went to Hato Hone St John to support their vital work in the community. Activities coordinator, Dawn sends a “huge thank you to everyone who made the market day so special: the residents, local stallholders, and guests. We can’t wait to do it all again!” 🤩

🤩 Summerset at Pohutukawa Place residents welcomed students from Manukorihi Intermediate Waitara, for some fun bowling lessons. With years of experience under their belts, the residents shared tips and tricks while enjoying plenty of laughs along the way. Everyone had a blast and they’re looking forward to more moments like this in 2026.💜

🌟 Big News for Taranaki! 🌟 Currently, many New Plymouth cancer patients have to travel hours to Palmerston North for treatment, far from home and loved ones.💔 But that’s about to change! The Taranaki Cancer Centre is opening soon, thanks to the incredible work of the Taranaki Health Foundation 🙌 And our amazing Summerset at Pohutukawa Place residents raised $5,000 to help make it happen! 🎉

How? Through a mini Market Day packed with fun:
🎰 Human slot machine (so many laughs!)
🍰 Sweet treats
🛍️ Bric-a-brac treasures
🤫 Silent auction

🎅 Not even a thunderstorm could dampen the festive spirit at Summerset Waikanae! Residents and staff gathered for a Kiwi Christmas beach party in the comfort of the rec centre, enjoying good food, great company, and plenty of holiday cheer. Sunshine may have been missing outside, but inside, the joy of Christmas shone brighter than ever! 🎄

The afternoon sparkled with elegance, laughter, and vibrant conversation, creating an atmosphere of pure joy. Guests indulged in an outstanding selection of food crafted by the talented Katikati kitchen team, making the occasion truly memorable for everyone who attended.🍿

🤩 The annual Te Puke Gardens on Wheels competition was a showcase of creativity and community spirit. Summerset by the Dunes staff members Bruno and Lisa, together with residents from the Care Centre Gardening Club, crafted a delightful entry titled ‘Resident on the Move.’ Their design featured a walking frame and a charming scarecrow, bringing a playful twist to the theme. The competition encourages participants to create gardens in any form, provided they’re on wheels. Residents lovingly planted the pots and collaborated on building the scarecrow, making it a true team effort. Thanks to their imagination and hard work, the group proudly earned second place in the medium-sized garden category. A well-deserved recognition for their creativity and dedication. 👏

🍛 Residents of Summerset Richmond Ranges were treated to an unforgettable evening of bold flavours and vibrant aromas at the Continental Curry Night! From rich, fragrant curries to indulgent mango desserts, every bite was a celebration of taste and community. The event was such a hit that the village team is turning up the heat - introducing monthly Indian takeaway dinner nights for residents.

🎄Summerset in the Bay is sparkling with Christmas cheer! Residents have been busy crafting dazzling wreaths to adorn their doors, turning the care centre into a Christmas wonderland. With all that glitter and creativity, Santa will have no trouble finding his way to this joyful village!

😎 A group of Summerset in the River City residents visited the Paloma Gardens in Whanganui. The gardens are landscaped with plants from around the world and there was even a collection of motorcycles on display. A great afternoon, enjoyed by all. 🫶
