🤩 AmeriCARna rolled in again this year - louder, shinier, and more exciting than ever! All 18 cars roared into Summerset Mountain View, and their amazing drivers brought their usual energy and generosity to the village. The New Plymouth team did an outstanding job setting things up for the event and residents thoroughly enjoyed going for rides in the stunning cars - big smiles, big engines, and big fun. It’s always a highlight in the Taranaki Region’s calendar, and once again AmeriCARna delivered the magic. A massive thank you to the AmeriCARna crew and your fantastic drivers for filling the village with colour, joy, and a whole lot of V8 rumble! 🔥

🎩 Art Deco at Summerset Palms - Te Awa! 🥂 Residents were buzzing with excitement as Napier city transformed into a 1920s wonderland for the iconic Art Deco weekend. Te Awa residents stepped right into the spirit of things with their annual Gatsby Picnic, hosted in their very own green space affectionately known as Posh Park. From dapper outfits to delightful treats, the event was the perfect blend of charm, community, and classic Gatsby glamour and everyone who joined had an absolutely fabulous time. 🥂🎩💃

🌼 Celebrating International Women’s Day at Rototuna! 🌼A small group of Summerset Rototuna’s memory care and care residents enjoyed a delightful afternoon at a special outdoor concert held in support of dementia awareness and fundraising. With the sun shining, great music playing, and even the Mayor in attendance, the vibe was nothing short of fabulous. The Rototuna residents kicked back in their chairs, soaking up the atmosphere with ice creams in hand and sipping on classic favourites like Coke and lemonade. The ride home was filled with excited chatter, smiles, and stories from the day - proof that it was truly a wonderful outing for all. 💛🎶🍦

🫶 Summerset Rangiora residents spent a gorgeous afternoon celebrating the incredible women who shape their community – past, present, and future – in honour of International Women’s Day. 🌼 In true Rangiora fashion, the laughter, shared stories, and warm cups of tea made the day something special. It’s these moments of connection that continue to bring this growing community even closer together.

🏎️ Thanks to our awesome partnership with the GT New Zealand Championship, a few lucky residents from the Wellington region got the chance to hop into the passenger seat for some adrenaline packed hot laps at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon.
Top speed? A casual 211 km/h 😎💨
Smiles? Unlimited 😁
And the highlight? Helping Linda from our Boulcott village tick a lifelong dream off her bucket list ✔️

🎉 Summerset in the Vines brought the vibes at this year’s Summerset Games! More than 50 residents turned out to enjoy friendly competition, sunshine, and the exciting debut of the brand new bowling green, complete with a ribbon cutting moment. 🎀 Kieren the bagpiper filled the village with music, adding extra magic to the day. 🎶 With plenty of games and a delicious BBQ lunch made by the Havelock North kitchen team, residents and staff spent the day laughing and celebrating together. 🥗 Here’s to another unforgettable Games! 🙌

🎯 Summerset in the Orchard turned up the fun last week with a jam packed schedule of quirky Summerset Games challenges! Each morning residents were surprised with a new challenge, all with a hilarious twist. From obstacle filled Co****le to a competitive round of ‘beer’ pong, and even a banana and spatula relay, no one knew what was coming next. The unexpected games kept everyone guessing, laughing, and definitely brought out some competitive streaks. It was a week full of fun, connection, and plenty of great stories to share. Safe to say… Summerset in the Orchard knows how to play! 🎉

🫶 Summerset Mountain View recently celebrated the retirement of much loved Village Manager Wayne Mackay, with more than 160 people gathering to honour his incredible contribution. For over 11 years, Wayne has led the New Plymouth village with compassion, dedication, and a deep commitment to the community. His leadership has left a lasting mark, and he will be greatly missed by residents and staff alike. The village team shared their heartfelt message: Wayne, thank you for everything. We wish you joy, fulfilment, and plenty of well deserved rest as you begin this new chapter. With love from the ‘Little Village with the Community Feel.’ A special thank you goes to Jo and Gav from Timeless Therapy for providing beautiful music, and to Corrie Bronkhorst, Andrew Collie, Anne Hook, Gillian Lawson, the Residents Committee Chair and Neil Spedding from the Resident’s Workshop group, for making heartfelt and meaningful speeches that made the farewell truly memorable. 💜
