🎉 The annual Summerset Mountain View Market Day was a huge success, raising more than $2,000 for three great causes! The Mountain View residents’ stall raised $753.50 for the YMCA Taranaki Youth Education Department. Nola and Grahame Hill raised $435.00 for Alzheimers Taranaki and village volunteer Eden Fairweather, and her friend Janelle raised $950.00 which will go towards their attendance at the Special Olympics! The lovely members of New Plymouth residents’ workshop also kindly donated their takings of $203.00 to Eden's stall. The village team sends a special thank you to all stallholders and attendees: Thank you for joining our Market Day. It creates a wonderful vibrancy in our village and your generosity in supporting the community is appreciated. 👏

🥰 Residents of Summerset Falls in Warkworth enjoy regular visits and cuddles with Molly the Pony thanks to Hato Hone St John Pet Therapy programme. The visits provide numerous benefits, including emotional support, stress reduction, and opportunities for social interaction for everyone in the village from staff to those in the care facility. Some of the residents shared their afternoon tea with Molly while admiring her Christmas outfit 🐴 This week, the village held a Market Day to fundraise for St Johns to help them raise vital funds to repair and rebuild some Ambulance Stations around New Zealand. 👏

🎨 On a lovely sunny Saturday Summerset Monterey Park took part in the ArtPoint Art Trail in Hobsonville. The trail allows people from the community to visit the artists and craftsmen around Hobsonville Point, who showcase their works in their studios and homes. Several residents displayed their paintings, embroidery, knitting, crochet, quilting and woodwork skills as part of the art trail in the village centre. Everyone who visited the village was amazed at the skill and craftsmanship of the residents. Residents are already looking forward to participating in the trail again next year. 🤩

🍦On a bright sunny morning, a group of sprightly Summerset Rototuna residents headed up to Auckland for a tour of the Tip Top Ice Cream factory. During the tour, the group saw all sorts of ice cream and frozen desserts being made and even learnt a few tip top secrets.🤫 At the end of the tour, everyone got to pick an ice cream out of the many options that are produced on site; some residents went in for seconds, they were just too delicious. After the tour, the group made their way over to Sylvia Park for a bit of lunch and shopping. Returning home later that day with full bellies and empty wallets. 🤣🍦

🥰 Recently the Summerset Pōhutukawa Place team started a collaboration with a few local schools to nurture and grow wonderful relationships between the young and the wise. With the intention of learning from each age group, fostering friendships and positive development. When the team first sat down with Manukorihi Principal, Fiona Low to discuss ideas, they asked if there was a wish list for the school. Fiona said they would love some air fryers for the home economics class. The students and staff where delightfully surprised when representatives from Pōhutukawa village presented them with five air fryers. They enjoyed an incredible afternoon together and look forward to seeing this connection grow. Ka pai, Pōhutukawa! 👏
