Happy New Year from the Make it Easy team! We are looking forward to working with new and exisiting clients to make your information accessible in 2026 🥳

Many kiwis will be chilling out at the beach this summer, enjoying the sun and sand. While you're out and about, why not see if you can spot important information that could be made easier? It could be a list of rules, a menu at a restaurant or instructions for how to blow up that cool inflatable donut you got from Santa!

Whats something you have seen these holidays that could be written easier and how would you write it?

We have worked with Te Kāhui Tika Tangata New Zealand Human Rights Commission to create an Easy Read summary of their report “Human Rights in Aotearoa New Zealand 2025”.

As stated on their website:
"The Commission's 2025 report on human rights in Aotearoa underscores the urgent need to protect and promote rights and freedoms in every aspect of life - from the workplace to the classroom, from healthcare systems to cultural participation.

"Progress has stalled in some critical areas, with a risk of things going backwards. Vulnerable groups, including Māori, Pacific peoples, disabled people, transgender and non-binary people, and migrant workers, continue to face discrimination and disadvantage."
