Every family deserves care they can trust.
Before making arrangements, it’s okay to ask: “Are you a Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand member?”

The Wilson Funeral Home is proud to be a member, giving families peace of mind through professional, accountable care.

Most New Zealanders assume all funeral homes operate under the same rules.

But they don’t.

Professional membership isn’t mandatory which means some funeral providers can operate without external accountability or a formal complaints process.

That’s a protection gap families often don’t discover until something goes wrong and by then, they’re already grieving, overwhelmed, and powerless.

Before you sign anything, ask:

“Are you a Funeral Directors Association member?”

Because accountability isn’t something families should have to hope for.

A funeral doesn’t fix grief, but it helps honour a life and mark the moment everything changes. At its heart, a funeral is an act of love for the person who died, and for those left behind.

If you would like more information about planning a farewell, visit twfh.co.nz or phone: 04 389 6069

A funeral doesn’t “fix” grief.
The pain doesn’t disappear after the service.
But it does something deeply important:
It marks the moment life changes, the moment we step into the “after.”
It’s the community saying:
“You mattered. You changed us. You will be carried forward.”
At its heart, a funeral is an act of love.
For the person who died.
And for everyone left behind.

If you’re planning a farewell (or thinking about your own wishes), talk to a Funeral Directors Association member firm https://funeraldirectors.co.nz/arranging-a-funeral/find-a-funeral-director/

Because saying goodbye properly matters.

The Wilson Funeral Home

The Wilson Funeral Home provides funeral services to the Wellington community, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Our main office is located in Newtown, we also have an office in Karori, Wellington.

Our company has served Wellington for over 100 years and we still have the records from that time available. We are happy to share those records with you to help you develop your personal family histories.

In 1999 we moved from the corner of John Street and Adelaide Road, to our new premises at 375 Adelaide Road. This building was refurbished to house our chapel, reception lounge and our other excellent facilities.
