Morena Plunket whanau,
The baby expo is on today down at Pulse Energy centre. We are holding our music and movement group tamariki tunes there at 10am. It will be in the stadium so we won’t be doing a shared kai afterwards! See you all there 😊

Kia ora koutou,

This term, Westport North School joined in on the fun with “Dunk It for Plunket”, a fundraiser that helps keep Plunket services running strong here on the Coast.

Although the official campaign ran during September, Westport North were a bit busy at the end of last term, so they held their event this term instead. Students had a great time voting for which teacher they wanted to see get dunked, and today was the big moment! I was lucky enough to attend and even helped tip the ice-cold water over the winning teacher — much to the delight of the tamariki!

We also want to give a huge shoutout to St Canice’s School, who took part during September and did an awesome job fundraising for Plunket.

Events like these make such a big difference — 100% of the funds raised stay local, helping Plunket continue to support families and children right here on the Coast. We simply couldn’t do it without our amazing community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, donated, or cheered on from the sidelines. Your support truly keeps Plunket afloat!

And if you’re a local business keen to get involved next year, we’d love to hear from you. It doesn’t have to involve a chilly dunking — you could host a morning tea and dunk a bikkie instead!

Ngā mihi nui,
Brier & Lani

Kia Ora Plunket whānau,
We have to cancel music and movement tomorrow as I will be heading to the north school to dunk one of the teachers. They have done an awesome job in taking part in our dunk it for plunket fundraiser. Robyn is also away. We will have it back up and running from next Thursday, the 6th of November.
Thanks for your understanding :)

Keeping tamariki safe at play doesn’t need to be complicated.
It’s about the little things:

- Check size, surfaces & strings
- Pick the right toys for their age
- Toss broken toys
- Supervise play

Small steps, big difference. Safe play, happy kids.

Unsafe toy? Here’s what to do.
If your tamaiti is hurt, or could be hurt, by a toy:
1. Get medical help if needed
2. Stop using the toy right away
3. Report it - you have the right to a refund, repair, or replacement of a new toy
under the Consumer Guarantees Act
You don’t just have to accept it. You have rights.

Mōrena whānau, unfortunately due to the weather and power outages this mornings music and movement will be canceled.
It will run as normal next week,
Apologies for any inconvenience.
Thanks for your understanding 😊

The best safety feature? You.
Play together, keep watch, and enjoy every giggle along the way.
Because safe play is shared play.

Messy toy box? Time for a safety check!

- Ripped seams — out! Loose ribbons and cords are a choke hazard
- Broken or loose — out! Broken, loose or wobbly can be a hazard.
- Cracks and sharp bits — out!
Safe toys mean safe tamariki. Give your toy box a glow up!

Right toy, right age, right play.
Tamariki thrive when they have toys that match their stage.

- Bigger blocks for little hands
- No small parts for under 3s
- No loose parts
- Safer play for every age

Nothing smaller than 4 X 6 Lego brick. Always check the age label.

Before you buy that toy, do the Six Safety Checks!
Not all toys are created equal. A quick check in the shop can make all the
difference for your tamariki:
- Size – big enough not to choke
- Surface – smooth edges, no cracks or jagged bits, no sharp bits
- Strings – not too long
- Supervision – some toys need you there
- Sound – not too loud for little ears
Specs – Check the packaging for information on hazards, small parts and the
right age range for tamariki.

Watch how easy it is to run through these checks next time you’re in the toy aisle.
Safer toys = safer tamariki. Easy as!
