Admitting that I do not have the time to do everything I want to do on top of a full time job, a family, and a not yet launched side business (exciting info coming soon) is the hardest thing!
Adding more workload means dropping some others because my health (although I do have adhd and my busy brain thrives on the excitement and constant challenges) and family ultimately come first.
Teaching antenatal classes and connecting with people in the perinatal space fills my cup so much which is why it has been hard and so put off admitting and posting that I will need to step back, even slightly!
My March class has been overwhelming with applicants and is completely full. But I have decided to do one more class at the start of May in the same format as it currently is in. Then from then on, I am looking into digitalising it into an online course of modules to do at your own pace at home. The content covered sure is important into informed decisions which I am hugely passionate about and a bit of expectations of what to expect, but also not the only really important thing. Human connection and building your village can sometimes be more important than any of the info you may learn so I will not let this component be missed.
New format tentatively will look like:
- Interactive online learning content to do at your own pace in the form of videos, quizzes games etc
- A class that goes for one Saturday morning every two months or so to meet people in the same boat, have some morning tea, learn some more of the practical hands on things such as breathing techniques, swaddling etc
It's not set in stone yet but this is what I'm currently thinking. Please let me know your thoughts though! As funding is tricky and may not look the same going forward, there may be a small fee for the content and possibly meet up (by small I mean like $10/$20). This also means that the online content is not limited to people in the Eastern Bay who can physically come.
