It is with sorrow that the Dickenson family report the death of Mary Dickenson (Loved wife of PBD for 62 years) on Thursday 27th of November.

Mary was at the heart of the School from 1968 until 2005, during which time she contributed to enhancing and establishing many aspects of the ‘special character’ of WCS, including a significance influence on the girls uniform that is still worn today. She was awarded an Honours Tie in 2003.

Mary will be farewelled at the School Chapel on Saturday 6th December 2025 at 11am, followed by a cup of tea in Big School. The Dickenson family welcomes members of the School community to join them to celebrate Mary’s life.

To mark the 75th match between the Wellington Wanderers Cricket Club and WCS Cricket XI a trophy was donated by the Priest family. The Priest family has had a connection with WCS cricket since the mid 1950s with Duncan Priest ( #5673, M 1957-61, David Priest ( #6024, M 1961-65), Richard Priest ( #6339, M 1964-68) and Sam Priest (( #10003, Hy 1993-97) all playing for the Cricket XI.

Duncan moved to Wellington in 1963 and joined the Wanderers and returned each year for the annual fixture.

A fantastic turn out for Collegiate Connect in Havelock North last night. A great mix of Old Boys and Girls from different generations, current and past parents and past staff.

Also a lovely opportunity to the Hawkes Bay community to farewell Headmaster Wayne Brown and his wife Alycia before they conclude their time at WCS at the end of the year.

A great night had in Waipukurau for Collegiate Connect, always great to see old friends catching up and lovely having alumni reconnect with the school for the first time in 25+ years by coming along to these events.
