Its fantastic to see our sports back up and running! But along with the winter sports season, can come injuries! Make sure we keep our young athletes fit and healthy and get those injuries checked and treated early.

Physiotherapy is an important part of this, as we can assess your injury and make sure that you have the right rehabilitation exercises to ensure that there are no ongoing problems through the rest of the sports season.

While the door to the physio clinic might be closed, I'm still open for business! Level 3 means that the clinic still has to remain closed, and unfortunately, until we reach Level 2 this is how it will stay!
But...
I am available for online appointments!
These are proving both effective and as beneficial as a face to face appointment!
Often the background and symptoms of your injury and how something happened, give me a lot of information as to just what might be going on. Combined with a basic assessment of the injury including movement, and basic testing of the muscles, and this allows me to be able to form a basic diagnosis. From here I can structure an at home treatment plan for you and give you helpful exercises and stretches to do.
So, given a call now to book an appointment and dont put off getting g yourself back on track!

NEED A PHYSIO APPOINTMENT?? READ ON....

Covid-19 has definitely made its presence felt around the world
now, and with our recent move towards a Level 4 lockdown, it has made accessing certain services more difficult.

With this in mind, ACC has been working with the physiotherapy service to allow us to do Telehealth calls. This bascially means, that from my home, I can provide assessments of injuries, advice on management, and some advice self-treatment. We can go over exercise programs and you can let me know if there is anything with your injury you are particularly struggling with. All calls will be secure.

You will still need an appointment time, so if you wold like to make an appointment for next week, then please get in touch.
This also has an important role in freeing up our local GPs for appointments for general health problems and not injuries.

So, if you have hurt yourself and need some advice, need an ACC form completed, or feel you may need an xray, give me a call so I can help you out.

Another new option I am introducing is an online physio shop, This gives you direct access to tape, massage cream, resistance band, braces and more. What does this mean for you? It means you can access the tools to help with your rehab. The suppliers are still open, as they are an essential service (you may need to be more patient with delivery times). You pay directly through the website, and they will courier the product direct to you. Not sure what to get - then thats where you can ask me :)

In the meantime, stay safe and remember to be kind to others. Its a stressful time and a little bit of kindness goes a long way.

COVID-19 Update
At this point it is business as usual for myself. There is increased cleaning of my rooms and waiting rooms to ensure that I keep you all safe.I do ask the following things:

1/ Do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your appointment

2/ Please use the hand sanitiser in the waiting room before you come into the treatment area

3/ If you, or someone you are in close contact with, are unwell, even if you think its just a cold, please reschedule your appointment.

4/ If you, or someone you are in close contact with, have returned from overseas in the last 2 weeks, I ask that you reschedule your appointment until you are out of the 2 week self-isolation period.

At this point, I will continue to operate until there is community spread, and then unfortunately, I will have to close for the safety of my clients and community.
Keep safe and healthy x

COVID-19

I've been making sure that I'm keeping my clients as safe as possible... you will have noticed my signs in the waiting area asking about your recent travels and also that there is now hand sanitiser in the waiting room for you to use when you come in.
I always ensure that the plinth is cleaned down between clients and that disposable face sheets are always used.

Basic hygiene is important. I do ask though, that if you are sick, please call and cancel your appointment. It's the most efficient way of stopping the spread of any viruses, not just Covid-19.
There is never a charge for cancelling your appointment if you are unwell.
If you have been travelling, or if you are at home with someone who has returned from being overseas and is in self-quarantine, please call and cancel your appointment.

It's not about scaring everyone, it's just about being proactive and trying to stop this virus spreading in our communities.

If you are at home, and have any injuries that you are wanting treatment for, but cant come in for any of the above reasons, please give me a call (0210686642) and we can have a chat about what you could try at home to help your pain!
