At Kensington Health we are striving to do our best for our patients, staff and community.

We know wait times can be frustrating and we’re working on ways to improve this.

-We have hired 2 new GPs in the past 3 months, and we have another GP starting in January and one more GP starting in February.

-We are increasing our nursing and healthcare assistant team and we are actively seeking and hiring Nurse Practitioners (NP).

-We are also allocating more (shorter) telehealth appointments to provide better access to our patients.

Please chat with our reception or nursing team about your needs, you may not need to see an NP or GP, and someone else in our team may be able to help you much sooner, or a telehealth appointment may suit your needs giving you faster access.

We know that thousands of people in Northland currently don't have a GP. We feel it’s important to offer limited enrolments while still prioritising our existing patients.

Please keep in mind that every month patients relocate to other parts of the country or overseas balancing the numbers out.

Kensington Health is locally owned by a NP and GP, not a corporate, and our values are all about accessibility, equity and community care.

If you're struggling to get an appointment, please give us a call on 09-4379070 and we will see what we can do for you, we are here to help.

Today, we are celebrating our amazing receptionist Annette on her last day before retirement.

Annette has been working with us for 3 years and has spent the past 30 years working in the clinical field.

She has some exciting travel adventures planned for the summer and is going to build an off the grid home.

Thank you Annette for all your hardwork, we are going to miss your smile and the laughter and warmth you bring to our team and practice.

· Request repeat prescriptions and select/pick up from your preferred pharmacy - this service requires prepayment
via Vensa (note: a repeat prescription will be processed within 48 hours of the request being received - Monday -
Friday)

· View lab test results and other health documents like hospital discharge letters and referrals
· Look up your immunisation history
· See ACC claim details

How to join:

Those with Manage my Health will have been sent a link to transfer over to Vensa.
We will start sending all our other patients an email over the coming days with a signup link. It will take a couple of weeks to contact all patients. Some family members may receive their invite earlier than others.

We appreciate your patience during this transition while you wait to receive your email invite. Should you still not have received this by mid November please let us know.

This week is all about PLAY!
20th to 26th of October.

Play Week Aotearoa is all about celebrating the value play brings to tamariki, whānau and communities across Aotearoa.

Check out the Whangarei District Council website for fun play events happening this week.

At Kensington Health, we know Play is essential for wellbeing. Play helps builds confidence and connection, and can help little ones keep calm during experiences such as a doctor's visit or immunisation. Thats why we have a play space set up in all our consult rooms and our waiting areas.
