Thank you so much to everyone who came along today to support our Pink Loop Walk! There were approximately 250 people, all decked out in various shades of pink, who walked, ran, cycled, scootered, or got dragged along by their dogs for 4.2kms around the Hatea Loop to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer support here in Northland.

Today, we raised over $1,600 that will go towards petrol and supermarket vouchers and frozen meals for whanau who have someone going through breast cancer treatment; help that is desperately needed when a breast cancer diagnosis means extra expenses and often reduced working hours while undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

Of course we could not have done this without the support of our awesome volunteers and also our amazing sponsors from Bunnings Warehouse New Zealand, Event Cinemas, L Aesthetics, MindbodyandSalt, PAK'nSAVE Whangarei, Pet Essentials Whangarei, Sculptureum, Mokaba Cafe, Four Square Otaika & Live with Intention - Sandi Bain Reiki Master Healer. Please support these local businesses as they support us.

Every year we are amazed and humbled by the generosity of our community and the people who come back year after year, who donate to us even though they are unable to walk the full Loop, and who share our event with all their family and friends. You are all awesome đź’–

Rising Hearts Women's Retreat

Ladies, if you've been diagnosed with breast cancer, we want to offer you a special gift of you time.

There are a few spaces still available for this free, pampering retreat running from November 14-16. This is a beautiful opportunity for 10 women to escape to a Northland tranquil location and get the time and space you need to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect with yourself. There will be fun activities and an opportunity to bond with others.

The event is completely free, with transport from central Whangarei and meals provided.

It's a chance to get some headspace back and feel rejuvenated. If you feel you would benefit from this event, please reach out to Dawn for an application form

The Den Maungaturoto

We want to share some information about The Den Maungaturoto, a wonderful local business owned by Albie and Marge Paton. Albie and Marge are dedicated and generous donors to the Northland community, and they've been an incredible support to us over the past two years.

They help us to help you successfully navigate the journey. The funds help us to offer practical and emotional support, encouragement, and information. Their support has enabled us to deliver the mid winter Christmas meal and the Womens Weekend Retreat for the past two years These events bring people together for support, provide significant benefits for cancer patients, whilst addressing both the physical and emotional challenges of the disease. These social opportunities offer a crucial sense of community, practical support, and a much-needed break from the rigors of treatment.

If you are ever near Mungaturoto, call in and browse the ever-changing treasures they sell and say "Thanks" for the good they do.
