Thank you so much to everyone who came along today to support our Pink Loop Walk! There were approximately 250 people, all decked out in various shades of pink, who walked, ran, cycled, scootered, or got dragged along by their dogs for 4.2kms around the Hatea Loop to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer support here in Northland.

Today, we raised over $1,600 that will go towards petrol and supermarket vouchers and frozen meals for whanau who have someone going through breast cancer treatment; help that is desperately needed when a breast cancer diagnosis means extra expenses and often reduced working hours while undergoing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

Of course we could not have done this without the support of our awesome volunteers and also our amazing sponsors from Bunnings Warehouse New Zealand, Event Cinemas, L Aesthetics, MindbodyandSalt, PAK'nSAVE Whangarei, Pet Essentials Whangarei, Sculptureum, Mokaba Cafe, Four Square Otaika & Live with Intention - Sandi Bain Reiki Master Healer. Please support these local businesses as they support us.

Every year we are amazed and humbled by the generosity of our community and the people who come back year after year, who donate to us even though they are unable to walk the full Loop, and who share our event with all their family and friends. You are all awesome 💖

A Heartfelt Goodbye to our friend.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our friend and supporter of our cause, Albie Paton.

Albie and his beloved wife, Marge, are more than just a couple in the Maungaturoto community; they are an established, generous, and loving part of it. Their kindness and spirit of giving have truly spread throughout all of Te Tai Tokerau Northland, touching countless lives.

A Legacy of Generosity and Purpose

We at Breast Cancer Support Northland are immensely proud and grateful to have been beneficiaries of Albie and Marge’s time, effort, and extraordinary generosity. Their support during 2024 and 2025 ensured that we could successfully deliver key events that bring so much joy and connection to those diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Specifically our annual Mid Winter Christmas Meal and our transformative Rising Hearts Retreat.

Albie lived a life full of purpose, and he gave purpose to each day he lived, always ensuring it included a warm smile and a hearty laugh. That joy and commitment to doing good is a legacy we will strive to honour.

Rest in peace, Albie. We send our most sincere and heartfelt thoughts to Marge and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time.
