As of May 1st, Northland Optometry has now re-opened in our new location!!

We are now at 87a Hatea Drive, in Kensington - I am working from home.

Due to changes in my health, the practice is now open limited hours and with limited services. We regret any inconvenience.

Appointments are necessary, and our opening hours are:

Tuesday, 11am to 1pm

Thursday, 11am to 1pm

Alternative days and hours by arrangement!

Currently I am not performing Optometric Examinations while I focus on my health, but we can make glasses to your own prescription. We can also adjust and repair glasses.

Northland Optometry - changes ahead

Hi everyone, due to my health and injury battles, and my recent diagnosis with the genetic disease Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, I have made a difficult, but inevitable decision. Northland Optometry is now for sale.

In the meantime, Janelle, Jess and I will continue to offer a part time service. We will keep you up to date with any further changes.

We apologise for any inconvenience these changes bring to our valued patients and clients.

03/12/2021 - COVID-19 Protection Framework - Red Setting:

Northland Optometry is open, with some restrictions.

We are not required to request Vaccine Passports - we can see both vaccinated and unvaccinated patients if they are well.

We are open by appointment only so please call us on 09-437-0005. Generally we are open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please do not come without an appointment.

Please wear a mask and scan in when you arrive. We are operating on “one in, one out” - one person in the practice at a time for your safety and the safety of our team.

We will ask you some health screening questions and may take your temperature. Our waiting room and patient bathroom are currently closed.

CHANGE OF HOURS:

Hi everyone,

In early May I had a leg injury, (optometrist, Sandra Field), with subsequent complications from infection, and am now looking at surgery.

Our apologies for the interruptions to our normal services over the past two months.

We have made the decision to reduce our opening hours to allow me to focus on my recovery.

Our opening hours are now Tuesday to Thursday, and we will be closed on Mondays and Fridays.

We will attempt to be open 9am til 5pm, but may need to close at lunchtime some days.

Daisy Field - 15/03/07 - 07/04/21

Today we said goodbye to our Daisy. Loyal worker and workmate. Friend and comforter to many.

Laid to rest in her favourite spot in the garden.

Hi everybody,

We are overwhelmed with demand for appointments currently, so have had to make some changes to how we are doing things.

We have made the decision to prioritise our existing patients and their families, so we are not taking new patients currently.

For non-urgent appointments we are now booking for January. If your appointment is urgent please phone us to discuss your situation.

We are also closing the doors at lunchtime most days to give us a break as it’s so busy looking after you all.

We hope to be back to normal service again next year.
