☀️Wrap up of year 2025
This year has been exceptionally active for the service, with four audits conducted: a
certification audit at Hummingbird House, a surveillance audit at Hummingbird
Hospital, and food control plan audits at both facilities. I am pleased to report that both
locations achieved full compliance across all audited criteria. Additionally, the food
control audits resulted in an "A" grade, with no findings reported.
📥Satisfaction Surveys
We are pleased to announce that this year, our service satisfaction surveys will be available for completion online, allowing responses to remain completely anonymous.
Both residents and their next of kin will have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback via these surveys.
During the first week of November, you will receive an e-mail containing a link to access the surveys. Please keep an eye on your inbox for this information. We kindly request that family members assist residents who may have difficulty
completing the surveys independently. Your support ensures that everyone’s voice is heard. If you would prefer to fill out a paper survey instead, you are welcome to collect one from the nurse station at Hummingbird Hospital or from the main office at Hummingbird House.
👂Residents’ Meetings
The upcoming residents’ meetings are scheduled for 10am on Tuesday, November 4th.
- At Hummingbird House, the meeting will be in the Kakapo dining room;
- at Hummingbird
Hospital, it will take place in the activities lounge.
Family members and whanau are encouraged to attend.

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to wish everyone a joyful and restful holiday season. The festive period is a wonderful time to reflect, come together, and celebrate the achievements and memories shared throughout 2025.
We hope you find time to relax, connect with loved ones, and enjoy all that this special season has to offer.
🎁We are excited to announce our Christmas Party celebrations for all residents their families, whanau and friends. Please join us for some festive fun, delicious treats, and good company:
• Hummingbird House: Christmas Party on Wednesday, 3rd December, from 11am
until 1pm.
• Hummingbird Hospital: Christmas Party on Thursday, 4th December, from 11am
until 1pm.
🪆We encourage everyone to come along and join in the festivities. There will be music, kai, and plenty of Christmas cheer. If you have any questions or dietary requirements, please let our staff know in advance.
