Free Community Pharmacy Throat Swabbing for Māori and Pasifika tamariki, 4-19 years.

Sore throats left untreated can cause Rheumatic Fever or rheumatic heart disease which can cause serious heart problems.
More than 95 percent of the rheumatic fever cases in Te Tai Tokerau are Māori and Pasifika tamariki. These tamariki, 4-19 with a sore throat, who are at risk of developing rheumatic fever, or have a family history of rheumatic fever can have a free throat swab at our community pharmacy.
