🛍️ Pop-Up Shop Fun!

We had another great pop-up shop last week with Merric Clothing bringing along a big range of lovely clothes to choose from, and Palmers Gardening Centre adding some colour with their beautiful plants. It was wonderful to see so many residents pop in for a browse and a chat!

Our last pop-up shop for the year will be on Friday, 21 November, between 10am and 2pm. After that, we’ll take a well-deserved break and be back again in February with more great stalls to enjoy. 🌸

🚗 AA Senior Driving Presentation 🧓👵

On Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting Ursula and Armelia from AA, who gave a very informative presentation on Senior Driving. They covered a wide range of topics including SuperGold Card photo upgrades, driver’s licence renewals, what to expect during a medical assessment, AA Mobility Care, and much more.

There were plenty of interesting questions from the floor, and it was great to see such strong support and participation from our residents. 💬👏

After the presentation, everyone enjoyed a cuppa together — a perfect chance for some one-on-one chats and to have private questions answered. ☕

A big thank you to Ursula & Armelia for taking the time to visit us, and to all our residents who came along and made the session such a success! 🌟

🌿🌸 What a fantastic finale! 🌸🌿

The last day of our Garden Tour & Village Market — part of the WDC Silver Festival — took place last week, and what a success it was! 👏

Visitors were split into two groups and enjoyed resident-led tours through our stunning gardens, with a well-deserved break at one of our relaxing water stations 💧🌞.

A huge thank you to our incredible residents who made it all happen — from leading the tours, running the water stations, and organizing the lively Village Market, to showcasing and selling their beautiful handmade arts & crafts. 🎨🧵🪴

The feedback has been glowing, and the Village was buzzing with smiles, laughter, and community spirit. 🌼💚

🌸 Our First Village Garden Tour with Resident Craft Market – What a Day! 🌸

On 1st October, we hosted our very first Garden Tour alongside a delightful Resident Craft Market and open home viewings - as part of the WDC Silver Festival. The sun was shining, the gardens were looking stunning, and it was the perfect day to be out and about. 🌞🌿

Visitors enjoyed a cuppa ☕, browsed and bought beautiful arts & crafts handmade by our talented residents 🎨🧵, and explored the warm, welcoming atmosphere of our Village.

🎨✨ Silver Festival at The Falls Estate ✨🌿

Our Mosaic Group is hard at work – just like many of our other craft groups – getting ready for the Silver Festival on Wednesday, 1 & 8 October.

🌸 The day begins with our Garden Tours at 11am.
☕ Afterwards, visitors are welcome to enjoy a cuppa and browse through our arts and crafts for sale.

It’s a wonderful chance to enjoy the gardens, support our talented residents, and take home something special.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there! 💛

Getting Out There Expo!

On Friday, some of our fabulous residents became models for the afternoon at the Getting Out There Expo. They looked absolutely gorgeous on the catwalk and made The Falls proud! Well done, Anne, Bev, Bronwyn, Cynthia, Joke & Joy, A special thank you to Gail & Judy who helped with our marketing stand on the day – your support was invaluable.

🌸 Falls Estate in Full Bloom! 🌸

On Saturday, some of our talented residents proudly displayed beautiful camellias from The Falls Estate at the Camellia Show – and we came home with some fantastic results! 🏆

We were thrilled to win the Conaghan Trophy for Most Points in the Decorative Section! 🎉

Our results:
🥈 First Prize – Dining Table Arrangement
🥇 Second Prize – Three Camellia Blooms in a Dish of Water
🥈 Second Prize – Camellia Arrangement in a Novelty Container

Another great presentation!

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming NorthAble to The Falls Estate for a fantastic presentation. Residents had the opportunity to explore some of the latest assistive products and everyday living aids designed to help make day-to-day tasks easier and more manageable.

From simple gadgets to clever tools, the presentation was both informative and inspiring—reminding us how the right support can make a big difference in maintaining independence and comfort at home.

Life at The Falls Estate

Everyone enjoys a good time, and this time was no different! The Village came together for a fun-filled Mid-Winter Christmas celebration, brilliantly organized by our newly elected
Residents Committee. We laughed at some truly extraordinary outfits, danced the night away, enjoyed delicious food – and then danced some more! I even had the pleasure of waltzing with one of our residents – what a fantastic night it was.
